It was a terrible presentation!  I have no idea which shade would be best.  They didn't swatch the choices.  They contradicted themselves saying most people will use the medium and later saying most will use the light medium. The model in the light usually wears medium in presentations.  The model in the medium is one that is in tan in most presentations.  Shawn said she was in that same medium shade in the show.  It reminds me of cover fx's serum foundation.  But again, I have no idea which would work.  (I'm sometimes light, and sometimes light medium in foundations.)  If anyone has seen this in person, perhaps they may be able to weigh in on this.

I agree...it sounded very rushed.  Based on what you're saying it sounds like it must run dark though if the models usually wear a darker shade for other presentations.   I waited to order to see the presentation and couldn't decide...by the time I decided to go for the light/medium it was on waitlist.

@Wsmom  Check again... It now shows light/medium available.  I just decided to order the same shade.

eta... I went on Algenist website and the brush itself sells for $35.00.  The Algenist Reveal foundation is not available on their website. I was hoping to find a better shade selection guide.

Thanks @Bestdressed.  I hope it will be the right color!

The rushed, frantic presentaiton is a marketing technique. Since this is brand new, no reviews, hard to pick a shade, they need to rely on hyping up impulse buyers.

There were a few other things about the presentation that raised questions for me.

As usual for beauty products, they showed video of the presenter on some beach with red algae. She claims that algae comes in all colors and this is what gives the foundation good color. In fact, there are iron oxides used for color (like all foundations). Just because algae is green or yellow when it's alive doesn't mean it can be used as a concentrated colorant in a foundation.

The presenter claimed that the foundation covers everything. Why are they also selling color correctors and concealers if all you need is the foundation?

Read the ingredients - this is a silicone based foundation, not so different from many others on the market.

When Chantal reapplied the foundation, the color did not match what she had on her skin at all.

I will wait until this is available at retail to test on my skin before purchasing.

I was thinking the same exact thing. The presenter said no concealer or correctors are needed.  They are a business to make money and hoping the consumers will buy it all.  I also agree about Chantal about the color not blending well at all.  I was thinking that maybe she put to much on.  I did go ahead and order the medium as the light/med sold out.  I do wish they would put some of the colors each on their hands to show the colors.  I know MBR usually does do this and is extremely helpful.

I saw part of the demo and one model, it may have been Chantal, appeared to get very good coverage. I was going to order based on that but cancelled when the total was over $46.00, which is more than I will pay for foundation. I have a couple of brushes for foundation that I do not like, so another is a waste.
