Any recommendations about one that does it's job but is gentle, won't make my face red or irritated, and isn't sticky?
Many thanks!
I like Paula's Choice Calming Toner. I have some redness and it doesn't irritate me at all.

@Sooner I apologize for missing this post. It used to be that it was "cleanse, tone and moisturizer", but now some toners aren't necessary. It was (and sometimes still) is only believed that toners were needed to address oily, problematic skin.
Toners have come a long way. Some help to remove sunscreen, makeup and extra debris after cleansing. Some toners help balance the PH of the skin, while others moisturize and/or reduce pore size. Some do help with oily skin. You have to check ingredients, like all skincare now, to know if it's right for you.
The one I use (ues, Bobbi Brown's Hydrating Toner) is a moisturizing toner with no alcohol or similar ingredients. I don't use it as much after cleansing since I double cleanse, but I will use it in the mornings sometimes on a cotton pad to cleanse my face. There are many others at drugstore prices, too. With just skincare on overnight, a good morning cleanse sometimes isn't necessary. This is more of
a refresh and adds a bit of hydration to prepare my face for AM skincare and/or makeup.
*** I think Burt's Bees has a gentle moisturizing one that does not leave a residue and you can check Dickinson's and Kiehl's too.

I typically use Dickinson's toner. Found in pretty much any store and costs under $5.00 for 16oz. I have gone through several bottles of that.
I recently received a Farmacy Beauty Deep Sweep toner and will give that a try. I hope it's not too much for daily use on my skin as it has 2% BHA.

@Shanus Thanks! Like I said, I am amazed by the oil cleanser I happened on to. It really leaves my skin nice and then a quick cleanse with a mild cleanser has really made a difference. Thanks to you.
Maybe I just like the feel of the cool cleanser on my face! I will certainly check out your suggestions. Burts Bees are always fun!

@SilleeMee I see you've mentioned this line in a few posts and it appears you're happy with it. I plan to try it when I need to replenish some products. I assume this line is fragrance-free? (I try not to use anything with fragrance on my face.)

QRx says they don't use artificial fragrance. What I smell is their natural ingredients and it's all very faint. I love the way their toner smells....very fresh!

I looked at the ingredients again today and it contains lavender oil in the bottom third of the list. So if you are allergic or sensitive to that then you might want to reconsider. I have no issues with it. Lavender oil is an alternative natural preservative.

I don't wash my face in the morning. Just a quick rinse with warm water. My toner/essence is a moisturizing/hydrating one and I use it morning and night. I keep mine in small spray bottles. One in the kitchen fridge and the other in my bathroom mini skincare fridge. Sometimes thru out the day, I will reach for the essence. It's a nice refreshing spritz of moisturizing and hydrating goodness ![]()
