@Imaoldhippie Very good point! When I was a teenager 40+ yrs ago, all us girls washed our faces with Noxzema cold cream. My friend at the time religiously used it and had the most beautiful skin. It was a cheap drugstore item that may not even be around anymore but it was popular back in the day.

I have been loving Beekman 1802 oil. It has many different oils in it but I don't believe it has any Argan oil. I have to say I absolutley love it and it absorbs way better that JM's oil and it moisturizes nicely. I do agree with another poster who mentioned JM's Reserve argan though, that is a much better quality oil.

Another vote for Jojoba oil.

You ladies that can use Noxzema and bar soap or any kind of soap are super blessed with great skin! Thank your parents for that LOL!
I have always had a mess for skin...I grew up with Noxzema and it really bothered my skin. I had terrible acne....then rosacea and acne. So product choice and ingredients really matter for someone like me.
As for argan oil....or pretty much any oil I have tried it just doesn't agree with my skin. From Emu to argan and everything inbetween...I gave up on the oils on my face.

@Imaoldhippie wrote:This does not surprise me one little bit. IMO all skin care products are basically the same with little to no effect. For some reason a lot of women think that the more the product costs the better it will work its magic. I find that sad.
I have used bath soap and Ponds daily moisturizer for years and years and I have very good skin for 75 years old.
So sad how much money women have thrown away on beauty products. Women greatly outlive men and thay money could be much better utilized for retirement. I use Oil of Olay. I laugh at the products on air for over $100 per OUNCE !!!

I had a doctor tell me close to 40 years ago that Noxzema was the worst thing you could put on your face.....unless you want clogged pores. ![]()

I tend to use two oils. I like argan for my face, but many clients with drier skin like marula. It's a bit heavier. I sometimes use marula or Moroccanoil (light) on my hair as an overnight treatment.
***Essential oils like lavender, peppermint, etc. can be irritating if applied directly to the skin and should be added to a "carrier" oil.

Good thing there are choices for everyone in all income brackets. 100.00 per ounce for for a product may seem like a lot to you, but may be nothing for someone else. I don't believe someone who spends minimal dollars on beauty products compared to someone who spends hundreds on beauty products is any wiser. We're all different.

Oh....I should mention this woman had just had her 100th birthday.
@Kachina624 You need to give that story to Josie. She needs a new one!

Oh I totally agree. We used it back then before we knew better and didn't have the quality skin products we do today. I remember the sting I felt when I put it on my face and how I thought the sting meant it was working!
