Re: ACCIDENT PANTIES...BEAUTY RELATED (?)

Hahaha you haven't lived until you've done the 2 mile hike to the back of the Lowes store on a full bladder, only to find out at this particular store it's up front 😅

Try kegel exercises if you have incontinence.  It will strenthen the walls.  Squeeze and hold for 20 or 30 seconds and then do it again. You will feel the tightening. Repeat several times a day. You can do it anywhere even typing on this thread and no one knows.

It helped my Mom tremendously.

You don't have to have a full bladder to get leakage especially from a sneeze.  I won't wear the pads though unless I'm going to be somewhere where bathrooms may be few and far between.  I did wear them while skiing.  To me, they cause more odor even without any leakage.

@Icegoddess  I agree with you.  I can only imagine doing this in Florida.  Check out post about my mother.

@millieshops Yes, if you think you've seen changes in your 60's, wait until you hit your mid 70's.  Nevertheless, I'm grateful for every day I put my (aching) feet on the floor! And fight the aging when possible.

Ladies, do your kegels, 10 at a time, 10 sets in a day, so 100 a day.  It helps.  Or see your urologist.

@Another new name Sue   Too late -  I'm well into my 80's-  up through my mid 70's. I was still who I'd been through previous decades in many ways.

A decade later and what worked then doesn't always work now.  And what works well one month might go off the rails without warning the next.

Re: ACCIDENT PANTIES...BEAUTY RELATED (?)

OK, I have my story to share.  DH and I decided to find a new cardiologist, someone up to date, and a doctor I trust recommended one.  Excellent education and credentials.  Very impressive.  I have clothes older than this guy!

One thing he stressed, quite firmly, is that it is very important to stay hydrated.  Do your research - it means drinking much more water than the average person may do.  I had been drinking far less.  But I changed - I keep my big pitcher on the counter, often with lemon or lime in the water, to remind me.

Well, when I leave the house, yes I wear a pad.  With a spare.
Rest rooms are often hard to find.  Hey, I take a bucket of supplements every day, not going to skimp on water.  Give it a bit of research, and you may find you are not hydrating enough.  It is really important.

I take a diuretic also. It's a PITA for travel. I essentially let myself dehydrate, which is really unhealthy.

Me too!  It's the lowest dose hydrochlorathiazide, but still...

Some years ago I was on lasix, which is a powerhouse diuretic.  I couldn't last more than 40 minutes.  On a trip, what a pain.

@JeanLouiseFinch  I am on Lasix. Sometimes, I play with the timing because the number of pee opportunities is minimal. I've learned how to space it out, but as you well know, there are no guarantees. We should form a club ;-)

This is a common issue for women.  I wear a light absorbency pad if I am going out.  Don't want to be caught in an embarrassing situation.  I am used to it now.

Accident panties?  Not for me.  My method works fine.

@Pink123  - I think that has saved me in the worst way.  I drink a lot of water especially during the warmer months and to take my vitamins, so if I  have to go out I go before and don't drink as much liquids and wait to take my vitamins and meds when I get home so that I have at least two hours to do what I  need to do before heading home.  I don't like using just any restroom when I am out.  I do make use of those mini pads from time to time.

I am not ready for accident panties.  Yes do those kegel exercises!
