@wagirl  Sometimes weddings need to be planned a year or more in advance. Our niece is scheduled for August. This was planned over a year ago. They have been making payments on the venue all this time. Not sure what will happen.

@proudlyfromNJ . My cousin's daughter was supposed to get married early next month but it's been canceled.  It was supposed to be a large black tie affair but now she's just going to have a Rabbi marry her with immediate family in June.

They might have a small backyard affair but who knows how everything will play out at this point?

@Shanus I loved reading your story!  If you lived close to me and in better times I would love to have you do makeup for me.

I've also always enjoyed the arts and have been a life long crafter.   I never had the drive to do a lot with it until my kids grew up and left home. I was mostly a stay at home mom but once they did I opened my own little Etsy business which keeps me sane.

BTW, my son has a degree in landscape architecture too and loves the varied & interesting jobs that he works on.  It's mostly urban design, renovation and public places.

@haddon9   We have much in common. Interesting that my son just told me the other night that his field has shifted away from actually being outdoors planning landscape designs, which he loves, to being at a computer doing more city planning, traffic circle landscaping and before "this" more travel than he expected to branches of his company to do work in other cities doing planning, as well. He said there's a big pull to get folks back into downtown areas and not spreading into the "burbs". I notice here in my small town, apartments are going up over stores on the main streets and over shops in bigger shopping areas. Our sons chose an interesting, growing/changing field.

@Shanus  Yes this is a lot that DS does too!  He does both interior & exterior work (lots of computer work & is working from home now) such as restaurants, pop up beer gardens, renovating older factories into exciting new public spaces, the waterfront in Philadelphia, etc.

I just hope that his company doesn't suffer a lot with this terrible turn of events and start laying off people.  Just like with the service industry, who needs designers right now?!!...I know I need to think positively but it can be hard.

@Shanus----I know but people gotta get real about all this too! So let just them get married, video it and post it on social media, then when all this is over---plan a huge party! All businesses are going to suffer no matter what--that is fact. Fear is not our friend--rational info is---I went thru my own personal disaster a few years ago when I was dx with breast cancer--you can live like you are going to die  or live like you are going to live----

@wagirl   I did my part by bowing out. They can do whatever they feel comfortable with.

@Tricolor   It is what it is. The most important thing is to make choices to keep yourself and others healthy.

@haddon9   So many plans are up in the air. It's a wait and see. Hope all goes well. Congrats to your family.
