Re: 60's Ladies~We Hope You'll Join Us!

Thanks for making us "newbies" welcome.  I have been a QVC customer for many years but mostly for clothing and household stuff.  I am retired now and disabled due to a hip injury which surgery aggravated rather than helped.  I have no need for clothes for work and so  I am trying to get rid of much of my decor and household stuff so I don't order much of those things.  I do however order beauty products now that I don't get out to shop at the B&M storecounters.

I'm hoping some of you Ladies who really know the QVC products will help me.  I have very pale skin damaged from sun exposure years ago when we didn't know any better.  I do use sun screen religiously now .  I have had stage 1 Melanoma on my left shoulder so my Dematoligist is very good about regular exams.  Yesterday she removed one more spot for testing which she is suspicious of.  She wants me to be using SF50 moisturizing and products.  I have never been careful to always use SF 50 products except when I knew I would be out in the sun for hours.  Can any of you recommend some of the products available at QVC for damanged skin?  I am not familiar with what quality products are available,

Thank you for reading this long epistle.  I look forward to being a part of the group.

Have a wonderful day.

Re: 60's Ladies~We Hope You'll Join Us!

Good Morning! I slept a little later this morning and still feel tired. I need to shake it off. I have an appointment today and am meeting my friend this afternoon for a little shopping. There's also a street fair we're going to stop at. If, the rain clears up! Supposed to, according to the weather report...

@LTT1, my recipe did call for coating eggplant slices in egg and breadcrumbs and bake first before layering.with sauce and cheese. Like I said, not hard but a lot of work. I don't make it often. I prefer easy! Yikes, 6000 pictures! I'm glad you've found a good place to organize. I thought I had a lot, around 2000. Glad you got someone to listen on FB...I agree, it's good sometimes to be a "squeaky wheel!"

@JustJazzmom, the days are definitely getting shorter and Fall is in the air! I sprinkle salt on the eggplant too. I'm glad your weather has cleared up for the visit with your son. Chicken Marsala and homemade mac n cheese sounds so good!

@Hayfield, I know you've had the last couple days off. Are you doing something fun?😊

@MariotaMurielle, thinking of you and hope you're feeling better. Hi to Katte, Catwhisperer, RetRN, boyzs, SeattleShopper1, Martie, Fancy, Snardy and Everyone!

@kgal.....Welcome. I can't be of any help as far as recommending products for you, and to be honest, I think it would be best to talk to your derm and see what she recommends.

I promise to remind myself every day that I am strong, courageous, and resilient.

@kgal, Welcome! I agree with @catwhisperer with seeing what your dermatologist recommends. Mine offers products but they're pricey. The Q has some good lines...IT cosmetics, Tarte (foundation). Were you looking for skin care or cosmetics? I use a sunscreen I buy at Costco....good luck!

@kgal, good morning! welcome to this group. I have been a Q shopper for many, many years also, and like you, I am retired too and don't shop very often for clothes. I have to try to restrain myself from buying beauty products because I have way too much already but still love to dabble in new products. I am also very fair and was not as careful as I should have been about the sun in my teen years and 20s (who knew?) so I have some sun damage also. you mentioned using spf 50 products and I just wanted to add that since I discovered Josie Maran's spf 50 I have used nothing else. it is very moisturizing & soothing, and the spf coverage has kept me from getting burned. I am so sorry about your melanoma, but you are smart to stay vigilant about your yearly exams.

as far as makeup goes, I like makeup products that have skin care benefits and have found that iT cosmetics CC cream suits me well. I did just buy the Eve Pearl TSV (didn't "need" it, of course), so we'll see how that goes. Smiley Happy

I look forward to seeing you back here soon.

@kgal  Good Morning and Welcome to our group!  You will find everyone of the ladies are exceptional!  I am retired too, most of us are.  As far as advice on makeup, I agree with everyone else that maybe a consult with your dermatologist is the way to go.  Again, welcome and I'm looking forward to getting to know you.  HAVE A GREAT DAY!!

Re: 60's Ladies~We Hope You'll Join Us!

good morning y'all. it's still hot here (90s) but less humid, so that's a good thing.

it hurts less when I swallow this morning and I don't have a headache for the first time since Saturday, so I'm sure that means I'll be good as new in another day or two.

sending good wishes to all.

Here's my Eggplant recipe. I copied it, so sorry if it's large. @MariotaMurielle, so happy you're better. Love that new "siggy" of yours! Tip...2 eggplants was plenty. I cooked the eggplant for 10 min. Instead of 5. I like it crispy!

@SleeplessinSD  Thank you so much for the recipe.  It looks absolutely delicious.  I am looking forward to making it. Smiley Happy  I think it is a good idea too, to take some time off from volunteering, especially during the holiday season as it can be so hectic and it gives you time to spend with your family.

@kgal

I also think any sunscreens available in drugstores with SPF 50 will also work for you too. Welcome to our group.
