Good Evening!

i finally have a few minutes before heading upstairs and getting ready for bed. It's been a long day. I usually don't walk on my days at the hospital; I do so much running around there. But, I really felt like getting out this morning early, and decided to go ahead. I'm glad I did, but I'm really tired tonight. Needless to say, I got my exercise in!😊

KAT, I think you've mentioned iherb.com before. I'm really interested in trying the Marula oil. I've seen it at the beauty supply store out here, but it's pricey for a small bottle. I'll have to check it out. Hope you're feeling better every day....

LOVES, Tenerife Nanduti(sp.), the lace.  I hope I got that right. Beautiful....It does sound African...yes, more info please. I've been meaning to ask how Lucas & Lexi are doing, and DD with two little ones, yikes! I'm sure she can't wait for Grandmas next visit! Any plans?

 MOCHAHONEY, I forgot to mention the pic you posted with the alligator yesterday. I noticed it again tonight. Wow! Almost hard to believe it's real! Yes, I think folks in the Tampa area better stay indoors😉...stay safe FANCY! Love the shrimp boats!

HAYFIELD, I've heard people on the other forums mention Wegmens...we don't have them in our area. I guess it would compare to our Whole Foods or Sprouts; which I love.  I'm glad to hear you'll be able to get some extra time off from work next week. It sounds like this week will be crazy busy for you. Hope seeing your trainer today helped with the pain you've been having with your back and you're home now relaxing with a glass of wine...like me!🍷

SNARDY, the only experience I've had with consignment stores is furniture. We've consigned a couple pieces and did pretty well. Much more than if we'd sold at a garage sale or even placing an ad in the paper. They picked it up too. You may want to give it a try. I hope you and your sister had a great lunch; I'm sure she was happy to get the clothes you gave her. As far as the fires out here, thankfully they're far enough away that we're not affected....it's scary though, and I feel so bad for all the people in that area.

Helen47--It does sound like you got a lot of exercise in yesterday.  I worked with my trainer and she works me hard, then DH went to the gym after work and when we were having dinner he mentioned that it wasn't a good workout and that he was tired.  I don't know if working out is helping or hurting us sometimes, all the aches and pains we get from it but they say as we get older "to keep moving"!  It seems like a vicious circle to me!

Hayfield, that sounds lovely. Glad you had a good time at the musical.

Snardy, the holiday stuff has already started. At least on QVC it has. Things for Fall decoration. I did like looking at the little beaded pumpkins, though, They look like they were covered in frost.

KatCat1, yum! That sounds delicious. Unfortunately, I missed the Easy Pay event because I didn't know about it. QVC was rather last minute about it. Aside from that, I heard that peoples' orders didn't go through because the site got flooded. QVC might want to consider giving more Easy Pays more often and give people the heads up when they are going to have Easy Pays.

Mochahoney, so, since you're tracing your geneology....have you discovered if you're a princess from a long line of royalty? The little playpen for your pet is cute.

Good Afternoon Friends,

It's going to be a hot one here today!  The front of our house faces west and we get that blazing afternoon sun.  I close the blinds early to darken the house.  It makes it seem cooler.  It might be psychological, but it seems to work.  Running the ceiling fans helps too. I would love to open the windows early in the morning to cool the house down but DH has allergies this time of year.  

Stopped off at Trader Joe's yesterday and got some inside out carrot cake cookies.  A decadent snack to be sure, but it's a once or twice a year treat.  Has anyone else tried these? I love Trader Joes.  Wish it was closer to us...but maybe it's just as well it isn't!!

Mochahoney, your sunset pictures are just fabulous.  I LOVE them.  Love your shrimp boat picture too.  I envy you having all that fresh seafood.  We don't get a lot of fresh seafood here.  What we do get is usually expensive.

Loves, thanks for telling us the name of that lace.  It is simply beautiful!

Hayfield, good for you for working with a trainer. I sure admire you for taking good care of yourself. I can relate to the aches and pains. I need to get moving more. It will help my pain.  Glad you are going to have some time off soon.

Helen, thank you for sharing consignment info.  It's good to know if I ever want to part with some furniture.  Sis and I had a nice lunch.  We ate at an outdoor mall and walked around after lunch.  Ourdoor malls are popular here. So glad you are not affected by the fires.  I pray they are able to get them out soon.

Let me know if you have any advice about consigning clothes.  I have some leather coats I'd like to sell.  Thanks!!

Hi Ladies,   Seems to be pretty quiet in our thread today.  I went to a new farm stand today.   I bought corn, tomatoes, red beets (need to cook & then add onion, vinegar, sugar & H2o and refrigerate), grn pepper, pickle,& onion. The prices were reasonable.  Tomatoes were $2.39 lb.  I paid $3.25 lb. at another farm stand.  It sure not like the "old" days growing up and everything was reasonable. 

Helen, The acure organic marula oil will make your skin soft & balanced.  I only use once a day at bedtime but everyone is different.  The bottle is protected against UV rays/light  (I inquired because is was clear).

 it hasn't rained here more than a drop or two since sometime in early June. our grass is literally crunchy.  we thought we were going to get some rain today.  we had some thunder and wind and the sky turned dark, then it cleared up without a drop in our area. it was 100 degrees here today too. I'm so readty for fall.

I had some sinus congestion and a slight headache last night so before I went to bed I took some AlkaSeltzer sinus medicine. it made me very sleepy and I thought I was going to just drift off to sleep but then I started having that pesky restless leg situation that antihistamines sometimes cause. I didn't get to sleep until about 2am. then this afternoon about 2 I started getting so sleepy I couldn't keep my eyes open, so I decided I would lay down for about an hour.  well.....3 1/2 hours later I woke up. I couldn't believe it was 5:30 and I had slept half the day away.  now I'm dreading trying to sleep tonight.

snardy, I have only recently discovered consigning. I sell things on eBay all the time, but some things are just a lot of trouble to deal with. things like dishes. so I started consigning those things instead of dealing with eBay.

it's kind of a trade off. you might make more money selling on eBay, but with consignment you don't have to deal with packaging and shipping. you just take your things to the consignment shop and they do all the work.  at my consignment place, the seller gets 50% of the selling price. 

I wish we did have good seafood here snardy. we're about 150 miles north of the coast and there really isn't any good, fresh seafood in the central part of the state where we are.

Princess Daisy is telling me it's time to go to the movie room, so I need to close for now.

gosh, I agree with KAT...pretty quiet here today. Hopefully, everyone is busy (or relaxing) enjoying nice weather...and those who haven't been feeling well had a better day.

KAT, it completely slipped my mind, I was going to check the iherb site for the Marula oil. I want to compare price, figuring shipping, with the beauty store near me. I'd like to see what else they have too. I do wish we had vegetable/fruit stands near us. There's such a difference with fresh. Yes, you may pay more, but it's so worth it. Let me know how your beets turn out. I've never cooked any.

SNARDY, I think you're wise to close things up early to keep your house cool; I'm sure it helps. I do that, but also turn on the A/C. 😟  We have a a Trader Joes real close to our house. I love it! I've never seen those inside out cookies. I'll definitely look for them next time I go. I love anything carrot cake! Yum! I hope you had a great day!

HAYFIELD, it's funny you mention aches and pains with exercising. I went for my yearly check up today with my PCP. I've been walking daily four miles after taking a break for several weeks. I take weekends off. My legs have been really sore; even my ankles. Going upstairs was painful too. Well, he said I'm doing too much! That I should cut down to three miles every other day. So, sounds good to me! I took today off because of my appt,, and will do three miles starting tomorrow. Anyway, his point is...yes, keep moving, but definitely don't overdo.

NCB, thanks for the info on Nick. I try to catch his shows. He has some really great products. I used to buy his Root Lift, but he stopped selling it on the Q. The body booster sounds interesting; hopefully I won't miss it. So good to see you here....

anyone watchimg HSN? They're having some great clearance shows. I haven't bought anything, but have seen some really good buys.

Snardy--If I didn't have a personal trainer I probably wouldn't work out as much as I do and she helps me to do things right, not wrong, as I probably was doing on my own.

Helen47--Wegmans started up in the Rochester, NY area and has slowly been coming down the coast.  We have 4 or 5 Wegmans within a hour of us with the newest one being only 15 minutes away.  I really like their selection and prices.  It is funny, we have to keep moving but be careful how much and how often we move.  Do you do any weights?  I hate weights but they're important to do as we get over and that's why I have my trainer, she makes me do weights.
