Here is a movie that is a romantic comedy "The Hundred Foot Journey" LINK starring Helen Mirren. I can safely say that it is clean and dearly enchanting... we need more of these! : )

Hayfield, It is a good thing that you are taking care of your health. Unfortunately, for me at two months shy of 60, I developed Rheumatoid arthritis and to boot I have COPD. I was a smoker and so sorry I was but I quit many times but it did not stick until last year and now I am a non smoker for a little over a year and may I add never again. I recently turned 65 in Dec. My problem is the Ra medicine suppresses my immune system so I easily pick up illness if I am around someone that is sick. I am so happy to be well again. Two weeks in bed basically is no fun. So don't worry about being paranoid, just take care of yourself the way you want to. The best to you in the New Year, Hayfield.

Re: 60's Ladies (+/-).................Come Join us For January!

Hi Ladies, We are having a heat wave today -- 12 degrees so I am meeting my girlfriend for lunch to exchange Christmas gifts and do that girl talk. Tomorrow it will be extremely cold with only 4 degrees. The only thing I dread is cleaning off my car today as we had about 4 in. of snow last night.

Helen, I guess we are never too old to miss our parents. My dad passed away over 20 years ago but my mom 4 years ago at 89. I miss them both terribly but my mom I was very close to her. I sometimes feel they are watching over me. I sure hope so.

Ladies, Today is Senior Day at Walgreens - 20% off non sale items throughout the store. I shop at Walgreens but you have to watch the prices as they are known for being higher than say Walmart or Target but not everything is priced high. They really have changed this program since it's inception but I still like the 20% off and I need some birthday cards and a new toothbrush since I was so sick it's good to change your toothbrush.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

So nice to read all of your posts. This was a cold morning with wind chill -23 degrees. I had a cup of coffee with a KIND bar and am now having a cup of tea.

Re: 60's Ladies (+/-).................Come Join us For January!

Hello Ladies.

Thought I'd stop in and read what's going on with everyone. How ambitious some of you are! I, too, am ambitious, but just can't seem to get going to do anything about it {#emotions_dlg.sad}.

Bob didn't sleep well last night, so he went back to bed about 9 this morning. I'm waiting for him to wake up so we can go to the store. I'm making lasagna tonight, and need a few things to do so.. We like the long Italian bread loaf prepared at the bakery at Publix grocery store- I slice it, spread each piece with garlic butter, and heat it long enough to get good & warm.

Over the weekend, the washing machine started leaking water on the final spin. It was my mother's, and she had it for a very long time, so we were not surprised. Lucky for us, when we moved from Virginia, we brought our washer & dryer (stored them in the garage) as they were both less than a year old.. So that saved us from having to buy a new washer. When Bob changed out the washer, he also changed out the dryer( which was still working well & it is very old too) with our newer one. So hopefully, that will circumvent any laundry appliance problems for a while. It's something all the time, right?

The weather is still nice here- going up to about 70 degrees today. But a big cold front is moving in Thursday & Friday with highs only in the low 40s with wind chills in the 20s! BRRR!! But then a nice warm up by the weekend- back into the mid-upper 60s.

I hear Bob up moving about, so I need to get going. Hope everyone has a great day.

Cindy

KatCat... congratulations for taking care of yourself now. With sinus problems, I find that my immune system is also very depressed if an infection is present. One thing that helped keep me well was holding a "tissue" (which is actually a huggies with aloe) wipe folded up against my nose and breathing the air in through that. This works on airplanes, in classrooms and in any public place where there are lots of people and germs around. Since it works for me I thought I would pass the suggestion along.

DD headed off to catch her plane in PA only to be stuck there due to lots of snow. We will go there pretty soon... she suggested we bring our "snow gear!"

Cindy... it is good to hear from you...

we saw that about a month ago ( I posted about it here but no one commented about whether they had seen it or not). I really enjoyed it and thought it was sumptuously filmed ( the food shots) , sweet and romantic. even DH (sort of) liked it. I usually like anything with Helen Mirren in it.
