Good Morning!  Yesterday was great, the sun came out and I played really well, for a change!  After golf, since our club restaurant was closed for a private event, the 8 of us headed down to another nearby restaurant to have lunch, we had a great time, then one of the ladies invited us back to her house to enjoy the afternoon, which we did!  My friend's house backs to a very large pond and the sun was out and the sky so pretty.  Luckily we're going to have warmer weather this Xmas.  DS is sitting on a plane in DC waiting to take off, I do hope it takes off!  This is the part I hate, until it takes off, the flight could get cancelled and he won't make it since flights are soooo full right now!  I'll keep you posted!

SISD--I'm so sorry to hear you're still not feeling well.  Hopefully the medicine will kick in and you'll be able to enjoy the next few days.  I understand about wine not sitting with you!  As we get older our bodies and tolerance to stuff changes, including any medications you may be taking.  I can't drink as much as my friends, that's for sure.  Sometimes I just get club soda with a splash of cranberry with a lime, no vodka and nobody knows the difference! 

JJM--Those cookies look so good and yummy!  Let us know if the chocolate stays on the cookies!

Dazlin--I know how you feel about not wanting to clean for a couple of days, I do the same.  I'm with JJM, just give your DD's guy a tin of cookies!

Good afternoon! A slightly busy morning. I packed up my trunk with presents. Then went to grocery store to pick up coconut extract, sweetened coconut & white chocolate morsels for a halved Bundt cake recipe using orange juice & zest. I will make it to have as breakfast.

@Hayfield  When I started to transfer cookies to a tin, some of the chocolate was falling off. I noticed in the recipe I got from the internet at 

thisitaliankitchen dot com cannoli cookies recipe that the author had put the chocolate directly over the bare cookies. I think the author used a piping bag as well. 

All that's left to do is make the maple spiced nuts & put them in a container & divide the cookies among 3 tins.

Hi all....I wound up running to 3 stores today...

So i found a very nice black shirt for my daughters friend...designer name, on sale.

I feel better now.   Also for my son inlaws son, a gas card.

I filled in a few groceries and picked up a rotisserie chicken. 

I thought I was going to make the sauce today, but thats not happening...ill do it tomorrow.    I got stuck on the phone this morning scheduling a mamo appt, and vet appt for my dog...that threw my timing off.   Later today, I'll semi set up the room table.

I also picked up another basil plant, my recent new one is dying...no luck with them.  So I potted it as soon as I got home.

Looks like tomorrow im going to be verrrrry busy...I hope I hold up.

hi all. having Ezra all day yesterday and today has worn me out. he's been very sweet but he's non-stop. DD is off for the next 3 days and then the weekend, but all of next week his school is closed.

we'll be going north on Friday for a quick visit to see our old friends.

the septic pump man was here at 8 this morning. he is actually the man who put in the septic systems in this whole development when the houses were being built in 2006. it turned out to be the dreaded worst case situation, having to put in a new pump and floaters. I guess getting almost 20 years from the same pump is a good thing, so hopefully this new pump will last as long. it put a big dent in our bank account, which is not good during the holidays, but at least it's done now and we don't have to worry about it anymore.

DD, DSIL and Ezra will be going to DSIL's parents place tomorrow and then will be here on the afternoon of Christmas day. I will bake a couple of pies tomorrow, which is really the only thing I can do in advance since we will be grilling steaks for our Christmas meal.

Ezra had fun making & decorating cookies for Santa today to put on his new Santa plate.

@JudyL , I heard about the big power grid outage in SF, but not the earthquakes. did the outage affect your area?

@MariotaMurielle  - Thank you for being concerned.  I live across the Bay from San Franisco so the power outage did not affect my area.  The earthquakes are still happening but I'm not feeling them.  My sister who lives closer to where they are happening has been feeling them.  My DD, her boyfriend, and I are going to my sisters tomorrow late afternoon for a few hours.  I'm just hoping we don't feel any while we are there.  So sorry to hear about the expense for the new pump.  That is a big ouch no matter what time of year it is.

I have an upper respiratory infection and am on strong meds. Feeling somewhat better today just very tired. Our DGD arrived on Saturday, and we've talked with her, but weren't able to see her on Sunday as was planned. It started raining off and on here today, and it's predicted to stay that way through Christmas Day. We'll see if that holds true.

Lots going on in my family with the worst our nephew, Chris, seeming to be taking a turn for the worse. The chemo and radiation doesn't seem to have helped as much as hoped, and he's in constant pain still not being able to swallow. He's very depressed. My heart breaks for my sister and her family. and we'll go out to see her as soon as we can.  Your continued prayers would be very appreciated.

Good Morning!  DS made it yesterday and he wanted to get something to eat so we went to a breakfast/lunch place and it was packed, we were lucky to get a parking space.  After we ate we were on our way home and stopped at the grocery store for a few things, it was packed.  So happy to get home and I'm not going anywhere! 

SISD--I heard on the news that there's a "super flu" going around, hope your URI dosen't turn into it.  I'm so sorry to hear about your dear nephew, Chris.  It's heartbreaking and I'm praying for him and the family.  

JJM--Since you've loaded the trunk with presents, I'm guessing you're spending Xmas with one of your DS's?

Dazlin--You're so thoughtful, going out to the stores to get some last minute gifts.  I'm sure you're excited about having the whole family together.

JudyL--Here's wishing no more earthquake tremors!  Have a wonderful time with your sister!

MM--Sorry about the septic tank pump!  Those cookies are so adorable, love the Santa Plate!  Did you make it?

Good Early Evening..I hope Everyone's having a good day.

We're on a severe weather alert/flood watch. It has been raining steadily and very windy. We prepared, closing our deck umbrella and securing anything breakable yesterday.  Looking outside, it's dark and dreary and a couple things have knocked over but, so far, all is good.
