hey all. I got caught up on a little rest today, alternating with a little laundry.

@Dazlin , we live out in the county between two towns in a small subdivision with about 25 houses. we have water from the nearest town but for some reason we don't have the city sewer system. everyone here has septic tanks. it was $500 to empty our tanks and the pump person told DH it would cost between $2000-$3000 if the pump has to be replaced. I grew up in a small city and know zero about septic tanks. they make me nervous, too.

@viva923 , you're going on a vacation? how awesome! we haven't had a real vacation in years.

@JustJazzmom , you should be exhausted after all the cookies you've made. they all were delicious, I'm sure.

@SleeplessinSD , I hope you are feeling better and will be able to see your grandchildren soon.

Our arrangement is the opposite of yours @MariotaMurielle. Everyone in our development of 20+ homes, has their own well, or a shared well for the homes built by the same builder. Water tests as safe. However, we have "city sewer", which is a big plus. We are billed four times a year for it. When we moved here, it was a flat rate for everyone - later they installed water meters, so we pay based on how many gallons we discharge into the sewer. Total annual cost is about $500.

I made the toll house cookies this PM. I mixed dark chocolate chopped chips with the semisweet chocolate chips. Before I baked them I added to some -- red, white & green nonpareils & to others I sprinkled with McCormick peppermint finishing sugar.

I did a half recipe. Just half a recipe gave me about 40 cookies. 

We are expecting some sort of snow on Tuesday -- 1 - 3" maybe? 

I went to the further away supermarket today for sale items. Later this week, I'll be making a soup with pastina pasta. It's a Lidey Heuck recipe. I bought the celery sticks today & the pastina pasta.

Good Morning!  The wine tasting on Saturday was so much fun, ran into a woman that I was in book club for a few years when I first moved down here.  I loved all the ladies in the book club but didn't like most of the books they picked, so I stopped going.  It was nice to catch up with her.  We also met a new couple while we were in line to taste the wine, we may get together after the New Year, we exchanged numbers, they seemed nice and fun!  The owners of the wine store are originally from Long Island and the nicest people ever.  They are really good at what they do.  I got to taste Dom Perignon and while I like it, it was $279.99 a bottle, so I won't be buying any of that.  The rest of the wines that they had to taste were in the $15-$30 range.  We did buy a couple of bottles, we get a 15% discount since we're wine club members.  I cleaned and caught up with laundry all day yesterday.  I hate cleaning!  I'm playing golf today and the sun is out, I won't be playing again until next Monday.  DS comes into town tomrrow morning.  Looking forward to having him here.  Have a good day everyone!

SISD--I hope you're feeling better.  One of my DH's golf buddy got C and can't play, he got it from his wife.  They're in their 80's and I hope they're OK.

Good Morning,

I hope Everyone's doing well.  
I'm still not feeling good. The worst is a sore throat. It's hard to swallow. Cough is better with the meds I got, just sneezing. No fever.
DH has been doing some last minute shopping, getting gift cards and even going to Ulta to pick up an order I placed. A gift to "me". Thank goodness we don't have much else to do. I do want to stop at See's candy for a couple gifts for our neighbors. It will get done one way or another.

@JudyL  I heard about the earthquakes out your way. I think you had a 4.0 Saturday? That's a jolt for sure. I hope you and Willow are OK...

@Hayfield , sounds like you and DH had a great time wine tasting. We love a glass of wine from time to time. I'm finding lately, though, it sometimes doesn't set well with me. Not sure why. Anyway, enjoy and have a great time with your son. We saw Champagne Problems and enjoyed it!

@MariotaMurielle , I also know zero about septic tanks. I've lived in the city all my life. Anyway, I'm glad all is well now..

@viva923 , a week's vacation? When do you leave? I'm so happy for you.

@Dazlin , I've heard of Hoka shoes, supposed to be the best. I'd like some but I want to go in and try them on. 
Except for meal prep, sounds like you're pretty caught up!

@JustJazzmom , toll house cookies are my favorite. I picked up everything I needed to do some baking just haven't felt like it. 3" of snow...stay warm!

@SleeplessinSD  - Sorry to hear you still aren't feeling well. Sounds like you have what my DD had.  Hope you are better soon.  The earthquakes are far enough away that I haven't felt anything.  They are east of me.  San Ramon isn't that far from me but far enough I guess that I'm not feeling anything.  My sister lives in Pleasanton and is feeling them however.  To be on the safe side, yesterday I ordered batteries from Amazon and charged up all my Halos.  Willow has her own Pereira "box" filled with her emergency food so she is set.  Just hope nothing big happens.

I put powdered sugar on my cannoli cookies, melted the semisweet chocolate in the microwave & then attempted to use a fork to drizzle the chocolate over each cookie. That didn't work well so I used a toothpick to drizzle. They look pretty. Just hope the chocolate doesn't fall off after they have dried.

Good Monday afternoon all...

  I just sat down since 630 this morning, its 330 here now.

 Just very busy trying to stay on top of everything.  I dont want to have clean next two days, just freshen up bathrooms before all the gang gets here Christmas day.

Im feeling tired now....cooked Philly cheese steak for hubs, and made pizzas.

My middle daughter came by, we had to straighten out some gifts I asked her to order.

So I wanted her to have the pizza to take home, and yesterday I baked annisette biscotti for her. 

My dog knocked over the Christmas tree 🎄  GRRRRRR 😡....Its a small table top, but a nice mess...bent, batteries flew out of lights, and snow flocking all over.

We got it back up, and now im looking at the floor i  already vacuumed  🙄

 Im really in for it Christmas day...going to be chaotic. 

  Good thing I left early this morning for a walk...I did 1 hour .

 I hope to go again tomorrow,  but im making the sauce in the morning,  and I think I need to get another gift.  My youngest is bringing her guy friend and I dont have anything for him to open....my other daughters say, dont get anything,  he's having dinner here!

Idk...I feel uncomfortable. 

 @SleeplessinSD hope your feeling better by tomorrow.   I did have to try on the Hokas...my feet hurt me, and that area under the arch never healed completely,  so trying on is the only way for me.
