Good afternoon.
Sounds like Southern California is getting wind.
Tomorrow we will have wind & rain so it'll be good to be indoors. Heading to movies tomorrow.
Went to Kohl's this PM to return slippers I bought. They were too large. My usual size was too small -- I must be between in that particular style slipper -- knit instep & faux fur trim.
The open air mall was busy.
I am debating to make something that I cut up vegetables for this AM or shelve it for tomorrow. I stopped in a Chipotle & took home a chicken burrito. I'm full so not too hungry now.

we've had a busy day and I'm exhausted. the day started with our toilets not flushing properly. I called several plumbers before I finally found one who could send a technician out today. he didn't arrive until almost 5 and after checking our tank he said it was full but his company doesn't pump out tanks. we had our tanks emptied in June of 2024 and were told then it's usually done every 3-5 years.
I called the company who serviced them last time and they will be here tomorrow. hopefully it will just be a matter of emptying the tanks but I was told it's possible that there could be an issue with the pump, which would be a much more expensive situation. this is not what anyone needs to deal with at Christmastime!
it's always something. I think it was Rosanna Rosanna Danna who said that ![]()
as always, blessings and prayers for all.
here's a Tombigbee River sunset.
have a peaceful evening, y'all.

hate those sideways hits about issues around the house
no walk for me today
bedding is being washed-those heavy blankets add much time to washer and dryer.
ok guys later

Good evening! I went to see Hamnet which by the way was used interchangeably with the name Hamlet in Elizabethan England.
It was an enjoyable movie. I went to the early PM showing & a woman nearby me said a group of schoolchildren were at the AM showing. A large school bus was in the parking lot.
I then came home & finished making dinner.
Now I'm watching recorded TV & catching up on e mails.
@MariotaMurielle I am sorry to hear you need your septic tank cleaned out, but look at it this way, the new year starts afresh. Hope you don't need a new pump but again a new year with a fresh start.
We got a lot of rain today & the front facing windows all got rained upon. The wind was blowing hard because my French door leading to the patio balcony had some rain on it. That door is perpendicular to the front windows.

Good Evening Everyone....
I haven't felt well since yesterda morning. Woke up with a sore throat, cough and slight temperature. Last night I barely slept with coughing so much. I just got a prescription called in this evening that we'll pick up in the morning. I'm so tired, I'm hoping to get a better night's sleep. We have been running around more than usual lately, I'm sure I picked up a bug while we were out.
Our DGD flies in tomorrow night, and we had plans to see her Sunday. Not sure that will happen now...probably have to wait a few days until I'm better.
I do hope Everyone's doing well...Good Night!

it's Friday.....and we can flush our toilets again ![]()
the septic guy came out early this morning and pumped out our tanks. he gave us the number for the person he recommends to look at our pump. that will be next week. DH called him this morning and the man asked DH if he was sitting down before they discussed the cost of replacing the pump, if that turns out to be the problem. I took Ezra to the library after school for their children's Christmas event. it was so much fun and I took some good pictures of him with Santa. they had hot chocolate and popcorn and had a big screen set up outside to show the Charlie Brown Christmas movie. Ezra told me "Grammy, this is the best Christmas ever".
note to self: don't sit on a blanket on the ground with 20 or 30 people sitting behind you because the sight of me getting up off the ground is not a pretty picture. it was embarrassing, but I managed to do it on my first attempt with as much dignity as possible and didn't have to ask anyone to haul me up like a sack of potatoes ![]()
blessings and prayers to all.
here's a Biloxi loop sunset.
have a peaceful evening, y'all.

Good Morning!--It was a busy week, trying to get things done for Xmas and my regular routine is really keeping me too busy. I already told DH, no golf for me this weekend. I really beed to get the house cleaned before DS comes on Tuesday and I really want to go to a special "free" wine tasting today at our wine shope where we club members. Club members get to come an hour earlier than non-club members and it will e packed. Then we may run another errand or two but will probably come home and do some things around the house. We went to see Michael Feinstein perform on Thursday niggt. I saw on Facebook that his mother passed away that very morning and thought the show might be cancelled but it wasn't. He did amazing job considering of his loss. I've always wanted to see him, so glad we got to. DH, of course, never heard of him, I just told him that he'd enjoy it and he did.
Dazlin--You are cooking up a storm! Sorry to hear about your ear problems. When I was a child, I rarely go ear infections but when I did my mother would warm up something that was orange/red in color and put it in my ear, it helped.
MM--I'm sorry to hear about a potential pump replacement for your septic system. I hope it's not the case.
SISD--I agree! I can't watch too much of the news either, none of it is good these days. I try to watch just enough to stay informed, then I tell DH to switch the channel! I hope you feel better soon so you can enjoy the holidays and see your DGD!
JJM--You are baking a lot of cookies! I'm sure your family will enjoy them.

So sorry for all the mistakes in my text! I'm trying to type fast and not doing a good job of it! I think you can make it out though!

Good afternoon! I did a 2nd half batch of the maple walnut rounds & this time I added cinnamon to the flour & pushed further the walnut half into each cookie so Insmusged or flattened each cookie. That worked pretty much but 2 halves came off during cookie sheet transfer so I will have to ice them.
Spoke with my brother as it's his birthday today. He was called this month for federal grand jury in Brooklyn. He did eventually get dismissed.
We had a good chat.
Hanging out today & watching recorded TV. May visit the further away market for a few items after I ice the cookies.
Tomorrow will make a half batch of toll house cookies. I've made a lot of cookies, but I am dividing among 7 people, 2 of them kids.

Hi all....yesterday was errands, think I got in the last of all foods for Christmas dinner, and then some.
Today I did chores here, keeping ahead so I can I concentrate on Christmas preparations.
Every day is something to do. I also picked up the doggie blankets and their bedding to wash. Floors are done too....then I turn around and my dog decides to throw up on the dining room floor 😑.
I did get a 30 minute walk in this morning too. Can't wait to wear my Hokas...my feet kill me.
I made crispy fried flounder filets on open buttered toasted rolls...fresh tomatoes and onions.
@Hayfield ...you sure a busy lady...enjoy!!
@MariotaMurielle ....I have a septic tank here too...and well. I get my tank pumped about every 2 years, and make sure they clean the screen. One time the screen accumulated alot lint/dog hair, etc and that blocked up. So we added a filter to the washing machine...as the water drains it passes through this filter and catches all the lint.
Also we put another washer in my garage which drains under the grounds, not into septic tank. So I make sure all the doggie stuff and throws, matt's, etc all get washed out there.
Im very paranoid with this septic system. Not supposed to use fabric softener etc, that supposedly gums up the system....I could on and on.
Once or twice the toilets gurgled, so I knew i better the tank pumped.
Last time, crook charged me $400.
We had well problems too this past summer, but hubby fixed it...thankfully it wasn't the pump. I hope yours is a simple fix...sounds like its ok since you have toilets functioning.
I really hate this whole well water/septic situation .
You made me laugh about your floor sitting/arising situation, lol. This is why im doing leg exercises...I want to...GET UP!! 😄
@SleeplessinSD ...sorry your feeling ill...get your rest and I sure hope your feeling better real soon.
Have a great weekend everyone, and feel well!!
