Hi all...got walks in yesterday and made a broccoli soup, like cream of broccoli, but I dont add cream...I add a few potatoes then use an immersion blender to puree it.
Also sausage and peppers.
Lots of chores and laundry done both yesterday and today.
Gave myself a mani/ pedi today and trying to relax rest of day.
@Hayfield ...good suggestions on the manicotti....ill do that after the holidays.
I have 2 refrigerators and both freezers are packed, so ill need to make room.
I also have 4 individual chicken pots pies in there...so going to awhile till room appears.
Im planning to go to the outlets tomorrow morning...shouldn't be too bad...need to pick up a few gifts...idk what to get, so looking around ill get some ideas. Then its all gift cards.
Have a good night all, and wonderful Monday!

It was minus 4 degrees when we went to church. Came right home and played some Christmas music while DH watched football. Neighbor had a soup mix for cheddar broccoli soup, so it made that and took ot over.

Good late evening! It's nighttime now.
I made pistachio cookies today & chopped them finely in my 3 Cup food processor.
I then once they cooled froze them. I also froze the cookies I made yesterday.
We only got snow on the colder surfaces today but one of my GF where I used to live got 8" of snow.
Would you believe the local shipping company delivered the package from Crate & Barrel today? I have to contact UPS early tomorrow to have them return the expedited order back to the company!
Tomorrow or Tuesday will make the cannoli cookies. These contain chopped pistachios, orange zest & will have mini chocolate chips in them & will have a white icing with drizzled chocolate on top.
I am expecting a small package from NYC tomorrow & a gift this Thursday.
Another company is shipping one item & am waiting for the 2nd item to ship. Bombas, the sock company is right on top of shipping their stuff.

hey all. it's so cold here, y'all. I know...we're not -4 degrees or snowing but it's going to be down in the 20s tonight and that's extremely cold for south Mississippi. we'll be dripping our faucets and opening cabinet doors under the sinks. do y'all do that when it gets this cold?
both DD and DSIL had to work on Saturday so we had Ezra. poor baby was sick with another ear infection. they had to take him to a walk in urgent care clinic and where they prescribed steroids and antibiotics. the NP said most likely he just never completely healed from the last infection, so this is probably a continuation rather than a new infection. DD needs to talk to his pediatrician about these frequent ear infections. he won't be going to school for the next few days, so he'll be here with us.
our family tradition is to grill ribeyes on Christmas eve. we haven't bought steaks in quite a while. when DH went to the grocery store today to buy ribeyes for the 4 of us the prices were so ridiculous that he came home with nothing. we'll have to look at a couple of other stores.
sending blessings to all. get those quilts and blankets out.
here's a Pass Christian harbor sunset.
have a peaceful evening, y'all.

just stopping by to wish Everyone a good start to the week.
I'm so saddened at the heartbreaking news about Rob Reiner and his wife. I've watched and followed him since his early days on All In The Family and the many great movies he directed. Another tragic loss as we end the year.
Blessings to all...stay safe and warm.

Today was busy -- put together my cannoli cookies & will make them after dinner. They have mini chocolate chips, orange peel & chopped pistachios. After they cool I dust with confectioner's sugar & drizzle chocolate on top. Thinking about it, I may do that last step on Christmas Eve. I'll freeze the cookies this week.
Got the local shipper package yesterday from Crate & Barrel which I wasn't expecting & today UPS delivered the replacement package. I tried contacting UPS to refuse delivery but it couldn't be done. I ended up bringing it to a Crate & Barrel & returned it.
@MariotaMurielle I'm thinking a pediatric ear nose & throat doctor might be visited. He might need tubes in his ears.
@SleeplessinSD It's so sad about the Reiners. I think I saw at least 3 of those movies he directed.

Good Morning! this has always been my favorite time of year but, I admit, the last few days have been difficult. I can no longer watch the news just local in the morning.
On a happy note, our DGD flies in this weekend and our DGS next week. Looking so forward to seeing them...
Blessings to you All...Have a good safe, warm day.

@SleeplessinSD , it seems like these horrible things happen one after the other, then things quiet down for a short time and then start again. my brain just cannot process why such horrific things happen and what all these people have experienced.
we had Ezra again today. he's better but still not feeling 100%. at least his ear isn't hurting now. they are having a Christmas party at his school on Friday and the kids are supposed to wear holiday pj's. I ordered some for him and they arrived today. he was so excited.
blessings and prayers for all.
have a peaceful night, y'all.
