Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

I had to go to the post office today and I thought while I was out I would just make a really quick stop at Sam's to pick up 2 or 3 items.

it was noon. I thought...how bad could it be? surely most people will be at work and there won't be a lot of people there.

hahahahahaha......

it was crazy town. I couldn't even find a place to park and it took me at least 10 minutes to just get out of the parking lot!

Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

@MariotaMurielle  People are trying to get all their gifts early!

I was in local supermarket getting small cookie tins -- need one for a couple who live down the hall.

Today I made a 2nd set of the cookies I made yesterday but this time I used orange blossom water, orange zest, orange extract & cinnamon. I colored these green & rolled in powdered sugar. They came out as a 'Grinch' green. Not extremely bright green.

Managed to wrap a present today so am just waiting for 5 presents to arrive. One got expedited by Crate & Barrel after they were unable to contact the local shipping company. I am surprised that they continue to use this company because it has no phone number for CS; strictly e mail contact & google reviews give them 1 ⭐️!  It's now with UPS & set to arrive on Tuesday.

Amazon despite ordering 3 things on Black Friday are due to arrive next week.

I have to call a photography company next week because I never got the e mail with the order confirmation.

Tomorrow I will go to the movies.

Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

Good afternoon!

@MariotaMurielle , we left to go to the mall before 10 this morning. That's when it opens. We couldn't find any parking when we got there, so just kept driving around until someone finally pulled out. Like you, we thought surely we'd beat the crowds. Wrong! Anyway, did some shopping then had lunch at a Mexican restaurant nearby and, now we're home. I've done most of my shopping online. Thank goodness, I'm pretty much done...I think!

@Dazlin , so happy to hear your good news!

Everyone, enjoy the rest of the afternoon/evening...

HaHa! This is so me...

You people make me not want to even drive past the mall. I wouldn't expect a full lot before they even open.

It's sunny but zero outside. Other than popping our head in to check on a neighbor who fell, we're not going out. I made a traditional turkey dinner, so we can have leftovers next week.

[ Edited ]

Good mid afternoon! Had a busy day with running errands before snow arrives this night into tomorrow. The grocery store was moderately busy & the exit along the road that leads to an open air shopping mall was crowded with cars. I try to avoid doing weekend shopping at malls before Christmas.

I was going to make pistachio cookies but I forgot to take out the butter last night before bedtime. Will make them tomorrow.

My GF called & we were on the phone for 2 hours!

My items from Crate & Barrel are halfway to me.

Hopefully will get done by this Thursday.

@AuntG  0° is awful! Hope your neighbor is okay.

Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

Good Morning!  It's really wet and cold here and it's going to get colder tonight and all day tomorrow!  They've already closed the golf course tomorrow!  It was so beautiful on Friday and Saturday in the mid 60's!  I golfed Friday with the girls and yesterday DH and I played 18, so I was a little tired last night.  Today I'll probably put my meatballs together and bake them in the over and then I'll refrigerate them and get up early tomorrow and put a pot of sauce on since I'm not playing golf.  It should keep me on schedule for the holidays.

Dazlin--Good health news for you, congrats!  I love lasagna but the manicotti will go further over the next couple of monthis, so I will have less cooking.  I freeze them idividually on a cookie sheet, then bag them and just bake a few in the oven.  I then heat up my sauce and and meatballs also made and frozen, I don't have to make either the manicotti or sauce/meatballs for a couple of months.  I will cook more in the upcoming winter months but on days I play golf I need easy.   DH went to his men's golf dinner the other night and I didn't have to cook!  Yeah!  I just had a salad with some grilled chicken, which was already cooked and in the freezer.

SISD--So glad you got to order some peanuts from the VA Diner!  I haven't been in the mall for a few months and plan to stay away from shopping until after the holidays.

Well, we've definitely cooled down. Mid 60's for the high today. The fog was terrible when we came down earlier. I couldn't see the house across the street! Starting to lift now and the sun is trying to come out.
I hope Everyone's doing well...We haven't got any plans other than watching some football later..
