Good late morning! It's sunny & warmer today (40's). 

Had a busy morning -- made icing for the maple walnut cookies. I am hoping 🤞that the walnuts adhere once the icing hardens. 

I made one batch of Rolos, M&M's & pretzel treats. Note to self: make sure M is facing INTO the chocolate. 

I've run out of index cards to write recipes & hopefully next week Amazon will ship them along with the puzzle toy for my son & DIL's dog. 

The Chemex ornament has finally shipped from CA & should be here by the 18th. Crate & Barrel finally shipped this AM my 2 items with a local shipper. Hopefully here tomorrow?

@Dazlin Hope your DGS is on the mend with the ER meds. Congrats to your daughter getting the job!

@MariotaMurielle  I remember those days when the kids did a paint or smear peanut butter on a pine cone for either the tree as an ornament or to feed the birds. 

Finding smaller sizes on eBay in Linea is sometimes the luck of the draw. There are many larger sizes available on eBay.

The Lionel wooden bulldozer arrived yesterday or Monday & it's the right size for my GS.

We had to clear six inches of snow this morning. Cards were cancelled so my husband is home today. We've moved some furniture in preparation for hosting about 30 members of the family for Christmas. The nurse who was going to come out for our wellness check cancelled because her kids were home from school. Now she's going to come out on December 22.

hey y'all. it was another beautiful, sunny, cold day here today. I love this kind of weather.

have you seen anything about the group of Buddhist monks walking from Texas to Washington D.C.? a walk for peace. I think it's 2300 miles. they just came through Jackson. bless them, some of them aren't even wearing shoes and it's so cold now. there's already been one tragic incident when one of them was hit by a car (in Texas, I think) and had to have his leg amputated. I pray they make it the rest of the way without anything else terrible happening to them.

I am completely finished with my Christmas shopping, unless I happen to run across something else for Ezra.

@JustJazzmom , you mentioned something about a Chemex ornament. the only Chemex  I know about are pour-over coffee makers. is that the same company?

@Hayfield , DD's infusions are every 6 months.

@MariotaMurielle  Yes, that is the coffee maker my son uses. I happened to see an ornament of the coffee maker & thought he might like it for his tree.

Tomorrow making an almond flour cookie with rose water in it. It's a NYT recipe called rose & almond ghriba. They get rolled in powdered sugar & baked. Reading comments I might put a few drops of red food coloring to dye a pale pink & add extra rose water & cinnamon & cardamom. 

More comments said to form the dough into balls, refrigerate & just before baking roll in the powdered sugar. 

It sounds like a Mexican Wedding Cake cookie or Russian Tea Cake but with added ingredients.

Good Morning!  The sun came out yesterday and I played 9 holes of golf with the Wednesday group, it's really enjoyable, when the sun is out.  So many people were telling me how cold they were, I thought it was quite pleasant.  I guess after working as a tour guide at Mount Vernon for 9 years, I can take the weather a little better than most.  My friend's party was fun and a good time was had by all, she had a very big crowd.  Today I'm making my manicotti, I got the filling mixed and this afternoon I'll stuff the shells.  I have an errand to run.

SISD--I got a email from the VA Diner the other day and they have 25% off on some of their peanuts, check it out!  I don't know how long the sale will last.  I ordered some peanuts to send to my brother and a dear friend.

Hi all...my day yesterday went very well.  I got home after 6pm.

I dont need to be tested anymore at Mayo clinic. 

After 8 yrs of testing, there has been no progression and my #'s are all in normal range...so thankful!!

 I have 1 more visit in 6 months in audiology for my hearing issues,  then my warranty on my aides expire, so ill be done there with that as well.  Ill find someone local, but won't be covered. 

 Today I got some exercises in and a 40 minute brisk walk....our weather is beautiful,  50-60's, sunny and crisp.

 Just doing a couple loads of laundry and my daily vacuuming. 

Just made hubs breakfast and ill make him pork schitzels later.

Ill have some leftover turkey burgers, or pot pie.

Plan on taking it easy rest of day.

  I still need to do Christmas shopping,  im stumped what else to get.

@Hayfield ...I asked family to choose between manicotti or lasagna. 

So lasagna it is...mostly the guys choice.  Anyway i dont have room to freeze manicotti. 

I looked at the ground beef the other day at Publix ...I almost passed out at price.  Ill shop around, but I may have to cave...not much choice.  It's really a shame about the meat prices.   I honestly think its going to cost over $100 plus to make.

Last time I made lasagna, cost $60...about a year ago.

I also made one for my son inlaw during bike week,  $65, ish.

  Oh well...hope everyone here is doing well  🙏

Good afternoon! The cookies came out great! I did a half recipe & colored them a light pink. The cardamom & rose water are faint tasting which is what I wanted. Tomorrow will make a 2nd half batch, but color them green with orange extract & orange zest with the cardamom. I also have orange blossom water which I will use. Both the rose water & orange blossom water I found in a regular supermarket in their international aisle. The brand is Levant.

This is a NYT recipe.
