Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

I also went to the movies but I saw Nuremberg starring Russell Crowe & Rami Malek. I had tears in my eyes at the end.

It's 4:30 & it's dark outside.

[ Edited ]

A sunny day here in the mid 40's.

I make the cranberry sauce today. I add 3/4 Cup each of sugar & sub orange juice instead of water, I add 1 Tsp of ground ginger & after the berries have burst, I add 1/4 Cup chopped candied ginger bits with an ounce of Grand Marnier.

I'm going to have the rest of my US Senate bean soup for dinner with a salad.

The movie I saw yesterday was very good. I recommend it.

Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

Happy Monday! I hope Everyone's doing well.

Like @Dazlin , we've decided to stay home, just the two of us, this Thanksgiving. My DH hasn't been feeling well, nothing serious, but we thought it best. I'll cook Turkey breast, along with a few traditional sides we enjoy like stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potato casserole, and a fresh vegetable. We'll buy pumpkin pie for dessert. Our son had invited us, but he totally understands.

Have a great rest of the day!

Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

hi all. it was a beautiful day. it's finally really looking like fall. after such a nice day and absolutely no hint of impending bad weather the news said we may have severe storms overnight with the slight risk of a tornado, then cooler weather to follow.

I have 3 pies to make for Thanksgiving, so I will try to get at least one (hopefully two) made tomorrow. I always make a sweet potato and a pecan pie but this year I decided I would also make a chocolate pie, which I have never made before. I found a recipe that seems to be pretty easy, so we'll see.

blessings and prayers for all.

here's a Florence, Ms. sunset.

have a peaceful evening, y'all.

I was reading the instructions for our Christmas tree, and 82 to 123 ornaments are required. It cracks me up on how precise that range is. I'm aiming for just over 100.

Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

Good afternoon. Just got back from Macy's. Their Black Friday sales have started today. I tried on 2 pairs of their Charter Club PJs. I measured the lengths of one pair at home. Their sizing has changed. The Medium measurements are now for a Large.

I bought a floral print.

Sky is overcast, but no rain expected.

Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

Hello to all...went to my butcher today, and then Ross, and Publix.

I made hubby a cubed steak, I breaded and fried, with mashed potatoes and brown gravy.

I dont like steak or much meat, so it's just for him.

Daughters surgery went very well yesterday...she did great and she's at work today.

She's a hairstylist, so she'll use a stool when needed to sit, and limit her clients today.  She's tough.

Thank God thats done.  We wait for pathology report now.

@SleeplessinSD ....I filled in last minute foods for Thanksgiving....an apple pie, and a pumpkin pie, and sweet potatoes.    I have a butterball breast, and bought 2 turkey legs today...hubs likes them.

I'll make mashed potatoes,  and artichoke hearts.  I usually make stuffed mushrooms,  but I forgot to buy.  It's enough for just us two.

My middle daughter and son inlaw will also stay home, keep things easy for her, (had surgery), he cooks, so it'll be good.

My oldest and son inlaw will have my GS and youngest daughter,  some friends too...like I said, it's a long drive to Jacksonville...so we're all staying put.  1st time I didn't have it here.🙁

Plans are my GS will spend the weekend with up there with them...they live close by, and usually he goes every weekend.   Ill miss him...if anything changes, he can come here.

Praying for everyone here, and those who have lost a loved one..I pray for comfort.

Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

the severe weather we were expecting last night apparently fizzled out before it reached us. we did get some rain overnight and there were a lot of small tree limbs and pine cones in our yard this morning, but nothing major.

I made a pecan pie and a chocolate pie today, and will make a sweet potato pie tomorrow. I might make the soup for Friday tomorrow too, but we'll see how the day goes.

I changed my Medicare supplement plan today. I will have the same coverage but will save about $18 a month on the premiums.

@AuntG , I had to laugh about your Christmas tree. I've never seen instructions telling you how many ornaments you are "required" to put on the tree.

@JustJazzmom , your cranberry sauce sounds so good. back when I could drink alcohol Grand Marnier was a favorite. since I have developed the "flush syndrome", it's probably been 30 years since I tasted it.

@viva923 , I saw Brendan Fraiser on TV yesterday talking about the movie you saw. I really like him. did you like the movie?

@Dazlin , I'm so happy that your daughter's surgery went well. waiting for the path report is hard, but I'm praying all will be well.

@Hayfield , I remember the delicious sounding treats you make every year. biscotti is one of my favorite things. have fun on your trip.

@SleeplessinSD , it sounds like you're doing quite a bit of cooking for just the two of you. but, Thanksgiving leftovers are always good. hope your DH feels better in time to enjoy it all. I'm so sorry to hear that your nephew is not doing well. I continue to add him to my prayers.

@JudyL , hope you are doing well and that you & Willow have a nice Thanksgiving. will your DD be able to join you?

sending blessings and prayers for all.

here's a Biloxi light house sunset.

have a peaceful evening, y'all.
