Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

[ Edited ]

back to add...in case you could use a little chuckle:

Ezra and I were playing with his Hot Wheels today, so I decided to get off the hard floor and plopped into his bean bag chair. everything was peachy until it was time for me to get up. no matter what I did, I couldn't get out of that thing. every way I turned the beans would bunch up underneath me and then collapse when I leaned on it. I did all kinds of contortions trying to stand up. finally I knew my only option was to do a log-roll onto the floor, then to my usual procedure for getting up from the floor, which is similar to a downward-dog yoga pose, but isn't a pretty sight.

by the time it was over I was cracking up laughing, Ezra was looking at me like "what in the world are you doing" and DH was yelling from the next room wanting to know what was going on.

sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself.

Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

hey all

MM know that feeling "oh gosh what did I get myself into now" trying to get up from certain things now are getting hard and harder.

Hope that vac is disconnected=something ain't right if it is causing more pain with it going that having it off.

Push for a trial run of it being off and see what happens.

Only have those phamton pains every now=then.

we are going into super COLD COLD COLD AIR -high's in the low teens and 0 at night for 2 days next week. so gosh darn tired of the cold weather=where is the warmer weather. Jan is giving us a run for our money.

not much else. guys later.

@MariotaMurielle  - OMG - I was laughing reading your post because that would have been me too.  I would have had to roll off the bean bag chair and get up off the floor the way you did.  The only difference for me would have been that I would have been laughing so hard that I would have peed my pants.

@viva923  - I've never experienced cold like you and others will be experiencing with the Polar Vortex that is on its way.  However, I will take cold weather over hot weather any day.  I can honestly say that I dread and hate summer and early Fall here.

Have PT at 9:30 this morning and then I'm hoping that I feel ok enough to do a quick trip to the grocery store.

Have a good day.

Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

Good afternoon! Bright sunshine & in the mid 30's. Rain moving in tomorrow PM & then snow moving in on Sunday late PM. Weather folks are saying that the area will get 6"! It's also supposed to be bitterly cold too.

I have a medical appointment on Tuesday so roads will be clear by then. I hope the caulk arrives by Tuesday so I can make 1 trip.

I visited the nearest Kohl's to me that is closing & all that was available were store fixtures like racks & light fixtures. Ironically, the Sephora was still operating. I visited another Kohl's & bought 2 pairs of slippers. Luckily besides the sale, I got 30% off using my card.

I am chuckling about your bean bag mishap @MariotaMurielle .

I rise like that if I am on my knees too. But I haven't attempted that since my surgeries. More & more physicians are recommending strength training for seniors as part of fall prevention.

I plan on going out to eat tonight just to get out of the house. I cleaned my balcony windows this morning.

So much for keeping things neat!

Have a great Friday!

Our niece had a Christmas party today. Her tree will stay up for two more parties; glad it's artificial. It's twelve feet high and takes up the space between her living and dining rooms. Coming home, I was surprised to see trees up in several homes.

Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

Good Morning!  It rained yesterday, DH & I decided to go to Kohls, I got the 30% off coupon and we managed to spend $300, DH got more stuff than I did.  I also got $50 of Kohls cash, so I guess I'll go back and get a few things later.  We went out to dinner, then came home.  It was cold & damp but going to be in the 60's today but cloudy.  We're playing golf, I like to play 18 with him on the weekend.  The golf course is going to be closed all this coming week, it's going to be cold and they're actually saying we could get some snow.  We'll see!  I hope everyone has a good weekend.  Today is my dad's 100th birthday, unfortunately he passed away in 1981, 13 days before his 56th birthday of leukemia.

He was a good dad and I still think about him a lot.

MM--Trying to get out of a bean bag chair is almost impossible, glad you got out!  I've been watching some exercise videos on balance and trying to get up off the floor easily and I try to do them as much as I can.  I just didn't realize how much balance we lose as we age.  I try to stretch everyday too.  They say we need to keep moving and I try but boy do I love being a coach potato too!

Good afternoon! Between yesterday & today I ran errands with one of my sons & for myself. One store had what he needed & I went today to a different store to get sale items for the week.

I am doing avocado toast with everything spice blend for lunch this week. I bought the single serve containers this time to avoid it oxidizing in the container.

Last night in the rain, son & I went out to eat at a local Italian restaurant. The rain washed a majority of the salt that remained on my car.

Oldest son & youngest grandson, EP came by while oldest grandson was at a nearby birthday party in town which had a trampoline activity. My son & DIL didn't want the youngest one to be jumping so soon on a trampoline after some minor plastic surgery on his face this past Wednesday.

Tonight will be watching a wintry mix move in around 6 & watching it change over to snow. We are under a winter storm warning. Expected snow amounts upped to 5 - 8" instead of 3 - 5".

I'll be in for the next two days.

I bought more strawberries to replace eaten one while grandson was here playing with the Brio trains & tracks. I had bought more heavy cream & whipped up more of the spiced sweetened cream for dipping. Getting strawberries was on my list today.

Have a relaxing Sunday all. Temps are supposed to drop after this snow moves in.

Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

we drove north to just outside of Jackson yesterday for a small birthday celebration for one of our old friends. it was a beautiful day for the drive. the traffic was heavier than I like but there were no issues, so it was a good trip.

when we got home DD and Ezra were here so he could ride his truck. we got Chick-Fil-A for supper and watched football most of the evening.

today was quiet and I got caught up on some sleep, then some house work.

DSIL is driving home tonight from Kansas City for doctor's appointments on Monday and Tuesday. we'll have Ezra for a couple of hours tomorrow but DD is taking off work on Tuesday so we'll have a day off.

our weather has gone wild. yesterday it was 70 degrees. it was 40-something today and the low tonight is supposed to be 20 with a wind chill in the morning of 8 degrees. we haven't had temps that low in years, and we're also supposed to have about 4 inches of snow on Tuesday. another very rare event in south Mississippi. I'm excited for Ezra to experience snow since he's never seen it.

we have our outside faucets covered and our inside faucets dripping, front porch planters wrapped. we're as prepared as we can be so hopefully there won't be any disasters, like burst pipes.

sending blessings to all.

here's a Mississippi River sunset at Vicksburg.

have a peaceful evening, y'all.
