Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

Good afternoon. Same weather as yesterday -- in the 20's & sunny.

Spent part of morning putting away Christmas decorations & getting out ingredients to make tonight's dinner-- chicken & mushroom wine sauce served over rice.

My electric tea kettle has shipped. My cooktop kettle has unremovable rust inside despite me trying to clean it. I figured it was time to get a different kettle.

Started shredding old billing statements from last year. I've more to go but will do it gradually.

@MariotaMurielle  I needed to use up the heavy cream & remembered making that spiced cream for a New Year's Day get together many year's ago. Problem solved.

@JudyL sorry you are dealing with the 'blues'. Has the PT been straightened out? Is there a different PT place you can visit?

Thinking about those poor folks in La having to evacuate from the fires.

Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

Hi @JustJazzmom  - I have tried calling the PT Billing Dept every day this week and all I got was voicemail.  So left a message every day and no one has called me back.  If I had let voicemails go unanswered when I was working and my attys found out, I would have been in big trouble.  If nothing else, I always returned them even if it was to say that I received their message, don't have an answer at this time but will get back to you in a day or two.  To me that is common courtesy.  Anyway, off my soapbox.  I will find out tomorrow at my appt if the issue has been resolved.  I also have the new PT order from my physician that I got last Friday.  Will see how this all works out.

Trying today to do things that are on my "to-do" list, no matter how small.  Sometimes doing that and checking them off, makes me feel better.  Not sure why but feeling very anxious about tomorrow, about what the future holds, and feel that I'm just not coping very well with life right now.

Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

Good afternoon! A sunny & still chilly day. It was mid 20's this AM & now it barely at 30°.

Having a late lunch of avocado 🥑 toast with everything spice blend sprinkled on top.  I spent the previous 2 hours sorting through major credit card statements to prepare for shredding. I saved a certain amount of receipts. Some were from the guest bathroom & some were from the master bathroom.

I'm glad that's done! Until next year!

Have a great day everyone.

Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

Watched a good share of President Carter's funeral today while I waited for someone at the doctor's office. It was quite moving and so well orchestrated. Came home and took a half hour walk in the cold.

Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

Good afternoon

Had my first real PT session today.  PT was very pleased with my progress since I was doing it on  my own the past few weeks.  So now I have harder exercises to do since I was farther along than she expected.  LOL

Not much else to report.  Watching news of the fires in LA since I have family and friends down that way.  Luckily, none of them are in harms way.  My heart just breaks for everyone.

Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

hi all. it was a pretty uneventful day here, which was fine with me.

it's been cold and windy, and now it's beginning to rain. tomorrow is forecast to be an all-day rain event. the northern third of the state is getting snow.

I've seen coverage of the California fires off and on all day. it is heartbreaking and horrifying. I can't imagine seeing the smoke and flames all around you and refusing to evacuate.

I also watch some of the President Carter funeral. I thought it was well done and very touching.

we're watching the Notre Dame/Penn State game and it's been a great one. they've been tied most of the game and with just a few minutes left, they're tied again.

@JudyL, apparently the PT insurance issue was resolved. yay! are you going twice a week? just getting out of the house and accomplishing a good PT session will be good for you. I really think you'll start feeling better now.

@SleeplessinSD, are you still having high wind alerts in your area ? I haven't seen anything about SD on the news coverage, thankfully. hope you are feeling better. did you get the Nightime supplements yet?  I've gone back to taking 2 caps instead of 3 and I'm still sleeping well.

hi to @AuntG @JustJazzmom @viva923

here's a Gulfport sunset.

have a peaceful evening, y'all.

Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

Exciting game between Notre Dame and Penn State. Notre  Dame pulled it off with a last second field goal to win 27-24.
The fires in LA are still going strong with many areas still at zero containment. Peoples homes have burnt to the ground, and they've lost everything. Just sad. Lots of anger and blame going around. Firefighters are doing their best, but they don't have the resources needed, like enough power and water,  and their aren't enough crews to handle the thousands of acres burning. It's just a disaster. Most of my family lives about an hour or two  from there. The winds were so strong, everyone lost power until this afternoon. My sister and niece had trees uprooted. Luckily, they weren't close to their houses, so no property damage and, most important, no one hurt. They feel lucky.  We were on a high wind alert, but I think the forcast was for areas near the mountains. We live along the coast. The weather's been nice and calm here...I hope it stays that way.

@MariotaMurielle , I did get the nighttime capsules. I took two last night for the first time, and they didn't work. I'm going to add 5 mg of the Melatonin I usually take and see if it helps. I've been meaning to ask how your DH is doing. I know it's a slow process, but I hope he's healing as expected. Praying for you and your family, as always.
I've been trying to keep myself busy..today was a good day.

@JudyL , I'm so glad to hear how well you did at physical therapy. I hope this is the start of better days and faster healing..take care.

Blessings to all...good night

Re: “2025” Everyone, Please Join Us!

Well heck, just what we need to rattle our nerves - a 3.7 earthquake on the San Andreas fault just west of San Francisco.  I didn't feel it but my friend who lives just south of San Francisco on the Peninsula said she felt it and it was fairly strong.

Had been warned by fellow knee replacement friends and my surgeon that pain after PT could be bad and to take a pain pill before going.  I didn't do that because I was driving and obviously did not want to take a pain pill and then drive.  Had no pain during or after PT so thought I had dodged that bullet but took some X-strength Tylenol at bedtime anyway.  Woke up around 3:30 or so and was WTH!  Goodness be, PT pain had arrived.  Knew I couldn't have done anything to my knee since I was sleeping so figured it had to be pain from PT?  Took a pain pill and it's subsided somewhat.  Think it may be a quiet day at home today.  Was gong to go to Trader Joe's but that may have to wait.

Hope everyone has a good Friday.
