Good Morning! The sun is out but it is a little chilly here today. Yesterday I went in for my routine colonoscopy & a endosocopy. I woke up a few weeks ago with burning pain in my chest, I woke up my DH and he said to sit up and take two tums, which I did, and I felt better but over the next few days still had that burning pain sensation now and then. I decided to go to the doctors and she said I had acid reflux and that she sees about 5 people a day with this problem. I've never had heartburn in my life before this or acid reflux so needless to say I was baffled! She did a EKG while I was there and I took some other test for a possible infection in my stomach, which I didn't have. She gave me a persciption to coat my stomach and it helped and told me not to drink alcohol, anything citrus, don't eat anything after 7 and come back in two weeks. I did feel alot better but not myself after the two weeks. Since I was already scheduled for my routine colonoscopy, she added the endoscopy to be done at the same time. Everything turned out fine, the doctor said since my family has no history of colon cancer and that I've never had any polyps that I didn't need to have another colonoscopy for 10 years, which is fine by me! The facility where I had it done was really great. It was a very busy place, the nurse said they have 3 doctors there and see 45 people every day just for the procedures.
My neighbor a couple of doors down had a ladies breakfast this morning, there was about 13 of us and it was very nice and we all enjoyed catching up with each other. We all live on the same street, expect for 1 women from another part of the neighbor. She wants us to get together more often, have "lady only" things, which is nice. She feels we all need to "connect" more. Sometimes connecting is a good thing and sometimes it's not! We'll see how it goes! Since we're all retired you'd think we'd have more time to get together but many travel, have other activites, etc., and it's really hard sometimes to get together. We have a couple that we enjoy but trying to get an open date on our calendars is hard!
We're heading to Costco after lunch, we haven't been there in a while and I told DH we have to get a big order since they'll be working on one of the bridges that goes into Wilmington and it will be an issue with traffic sometimes. We just have to think before we head in! Luckily we don't work and have to use the bridge every day.
DH took alot of the decorations down while I was at the ladies breakfast. We'll finish up over the weekend. It's going to rain all day tomorrow!
I hope that everyone has a good weekend!

Viva--I hope you don't get too much snow! I also hope that your knee is OK! It's always something as they say and as I get older, something is always popping up!
JJM--Is that big snow storm headed your way? The weather people seems to making a big fuss over it! Take care, but I'm sure you're prepared!
MM--Sorry the prediction of rain changed your plans and then it got nice, that's happened to me a time or two!
JudyL--I too don't know how I managed a job & children. The days go by too fast now too! I like to clean out closets and do some decluttering in January too! I'll see if that happens this month, I have a book I want to read and we're thinking about heading to Florida for a week or so.

Good afternoon! Lots of sunshine today & in the mid 30's here. Our storm is supposed to begin late tomorrow PM & go through Sunday before leaving the area.
That will be difficult to stop the alcohol temporarily @Hayfield.
I had only one polyp the time before the last colonoscopy I had. The next one was negative for anything, so last year discussed using the Cologuard as the exam. It looks for cancer cells with checking DNA. Nothing found so I am good for a few years!
Most of my holiday decorations are put away. I switched out the poinsettias runner & mays for the red buffalo check runner & mats. In February will switch them for the Valentine's Day runner & mats.
After I watch my soap, will start prepping the citrus for the citrus sauce I am making for the scallops.
Hanging out this weekend, catching up on recorded programs.
Hard to believe it's Friday!

I'm going to try her technique once again.
It cannot be used over any products or under any products either.
It has a chemical with aluminum and this is what causes the tightening effect. She shows how she uses a fluffy brush to lightly brush away traces of white. And she also shows her "finished face" with makeup on but carefully applied eye makeup avoiding the area where she put the Instant Firmx.
Therevis a concealer I purchased ($$) and it has the same effect but only also has the concealer in it too. It is by "Cicely". I have had the same little tube for over 3 years... only problem with the Cicely for me is that it also contains titanium ... a trigger for my autoimmune skin condition. So I revert to using it for special occasions! 🩷

Hi Everyone!
This morning I went grocery shopping. Haven't made a pot roast in my slow cooker in years and decided I would do so on Sunday. It's supposed to be cold and rainy and seems like the perfect day to do so. Wish me luck! Picked up a few other things to get me through the wet weekend so I don't have to go out again if I choose not to. Was hoping to see DD this weekend but she leaves for a business trip on Sunday. She has to do laundry and pack and get her pets ready tomorrow so we'll wait until she returns.
Came home from grocery shopping and unboxed and put together the Cubii that I ordered last weekend when it was a TSV. Tried it out at the lowest resistance and only did 100 reps to see how my knee would take it. I like it and will see how things go - verrrry slow at first.
Then I made the mistake of "just looking" at Laura Geller's webiste. They are having such a good sale - ugh famous last words. Did I need a new blush? No. Did I need 2 more eyeshadow quads? No - Did either of those things matter when I hit the order button? - not in the least.
Now it's a little after 5:00 so will decide on dinner in a bit. It's been very chilly here today so maybe some soup will be on the menu.
Have a good night!

Good Morning! It's going to be an ugly rainy, damp, chilly day, so we'll stay in. DH is finishing up taking the decorations down. I'll be cleaning up behind him! I took out some sauce and meatballs from the freezer for dinner. We went to Costco as planned and then went up to the club for a bite to eat for dinner.
I need a good under eye recommendation, if anyone has a good under eye cream that they use, especially for puffiness!
JJM--Luckily I ddidn't have a problem staying away from alcohol for the two week period and now I'm just having a glass once in a while. DH & I would drink a bottle of wine with cheese & crackers and then dinner, don't do that anymore! Maybe I'll lose some weight in the process!
JudyL--Your DD must live close by, nice that you get to see her often.
DH & I are now trying to plan our trip to Florida, leaving the end of January, we need to be back by Feb. 12. We had to get our calendars together and see what appointments we had so we could figure out when to go. We both have dentist appointments and I have my yearly physical that we have to work around. I can easily change a dentist appointment but my yearly physical would be hard to change since there is such a shortage of doctors in the area and it could take me a couple of months to get another apoointment. They schedule the yearly appointment a year in advance. We'll drive and take our time, stopping a along the way to golf at some of the golf courses our club is a part of, we get to golf for a very reduced rate at the other clubs. We have some friends along the way that we can visit but I'm planning our trip that fits our schedule and if friends/family are around we'll meet them for dinner or something, if not maybe we'll be back down there next year. All our family & friends are traveling, it's hard to see people sometimes.
I hope that everyone has a good weekend!

Morning! I had the citrus sauce with Peruvian scallops. It was okay. It called for a white wine so I used what I had -- a bottle of Chardonnay. Recipe suggested a Pinot Gris.
I would have preferred it slightly sweeter. If I make the sauce again, would use maybe 1/4 Cup orange juice to the pan.
I also would have preferred larger scallops. Might try buying fresh next time instead of frozen.
Regarding our storm, it still looks like the weather folks are trying to determine snow amounts. The Cape Cod region is supposed to get rain with a little snow, but the further inland to the west of the state & north of Boston the snow amounts will increase. Expect the bulk of the bands of snow to be initially heavy this late evening to occur & it's supposed to be out of here by tomorrow PM. Maybe 3 - 6"? Also some rain mixing in at the end so that will lower snow amounts.
Property manager has asked people who use the below ground & above ground garages for their assigned spaces to keep the cars inside to make cleanup easier for the ground crews.
Right now the storm is in western PA.
Tomorrow going to make French toast for breakfast for a change.
Have a great weekend.

The snow still has yet to arrive; it's snowing in RI. There is some heavy something coming to Long Island soon, but it's not snow according to the radar. It's yellow orange on the radar.
I did 2 loads of laundry today. The final load was cleaning the kitchen chair cushions. I am going to put them on a cookie rack to air dry on my dining room table.
I put away the remaining decorations & emptied a 2nd moving box in a hall closet. Now there is more room in there.
Tomorrow will tackle the floors here.
