Silkeej ~ I am so very sorry for your loss.. You will be in my prayers and thoughts..
My husband of 25 years died a week after entering the hospital, I knew my husbands wishes (as he knew mine)... I'm not saying it made the process easier, but it was a relief to know what he wanted...
This board has helped me so very much.. The women here are so wonderful, loving and caring.. My husband passed a little over 2 years ago and without the beautiful people on the board, I don't believe I would be dealing as well as I have..
My husband passed 1 week after we bought a new home and many decisions were left to me.. I still remember being in HomeDepot and just broke down in a flood (Niagra Falls flood) of tears; found a spot away from everyone and just cried.. There was a nice, young man who saw me and just did his best to understand..
I've learned if you need to cry ~ No matter the place or time ~ Just do it!
We are your friends here.. God Bless you!

possummink, love the picture of the hot air balloons over the water. I "heart" you.
Hi goldens, nice to see you today.
DannysWife, you have come a long way, and am sure your kind words to Silkeej will bring her a measure of comfort. Knowing we are not in this alone helps a lot. Many others suffer also and understand.
Peace to each of you dear friends. Hope to see more coming to post. We worry when you don't.

Silkeej, I am so, so very sorry for your loss. My husband died unexpectedly as well. It still amazes me how my world was shattered within a few hours. For the first year I was on autopilot. I had to take it one day at a time, one hour at a time, one minute at a time. That was the only way that I could cope. I learned to listen to my body. I cried when I needed to cry, and allowed myself to just " be." I slept with the TV on. As a matter of fact I had that going or the radio going at all times. I couldn't bear the silence . I had no appetite for the longest time, and made sure that I had plenty of Ensure in the house. One of the things that kept me going was that by living I was keeping my husbands legacy alive. Please stay close to us here. You are in my prayers. Love, Fran
