Re: widows thread

[ Edited ]

Hi Snappy and my Friends,   I had the second "blue light" treatment on my face yesterday and today I look like a sunburned raccoon.  My face has a burn on it and is sore and at times itchy.   I have one more of these treatments in October.   I have to stay inside for 48 hours after the treatment even if it's cloudy.

Snappy,  I did get the banana plants outside and they got a nice drink of rain yesterday.  Also all my Amaryllises are outside, even the bulbs I have to plant each year.  I guess it would be easier to pot them like the other 30 or so that I have.   I have a few of the many houseplants outside and will try to get the rest out this weekend.   I don't have nearly as many as I used to have, but would guess the number to be close to 60.   I do love my plants and flowers.    I'd love to plant a garden but I'm not home to care for it and my brother is just tired of doing it, only to have the deer come and eat most of it.   I don't think they eat the patty pan squash I love, but then again,  I''m not here to care for them.

The photo above was take a bit south of Tampa, and has 3 Roseate Spoonbill birds standing near some Mangrove plants.  Mangroves help preserve the land from washing away and provide shelter for small fish, and other aquatic critters, as their roots are thick and anchored in the sand below the water level.

Better photo of the Roseate Spoonbills and Mangrove plants with their roots showing how they provide shelter for small marine critters and birds etc.

10grands, hope your niece gets better soon. That is scary. Putting in a stent usually means heart trouble, doesn't it? Sorry about that and pray they can give her the right care so she gets better.

My sister has a valve. It's like an umbrella meant to catch any potential blood clots. They took her off the blood thinners. If they remove the valve, they will put her back on the meds. It's a balancing act, IMO. I'll try to dissuade her from coming her until after the 4 weeks, but I don't know how successful I'll be.

Yep, the little ones have so much energy, and I have no idea where it comes from, but I'd like a little bit of it. So much fun at that age. Glad you got to have that time.

The flowers you are going to take to the cemetery sound lovely. Hope it's a peaceful and happy thing for you.

Silkeej, I have those microfiber cloths. Just started using them. I wet one, sqeezed out the water and went around the house dusting and cleaning everything. It's wonderful! Glad you are making good headway on the spring cleaning. I have to dust after I sign off  here.

Spent time shredding bunches of old receipts from the Q and HSN. How long do you keep those? They really pile up. I shredded the ones from last year.

YEAH for a normal mammo. I have to do mine soon. I see my PC doc next week and he will arrange it for me. I gather you are having a cystoscope. I've had 2 of them. Not fun, but I lived. They didn't show anything wrong. But I get lots of UTIs.

Glad you feel happy at the cemetery. I haven't been for at least 5 years. It's interesting how differently people deal with grief, but whatever works is what we should do. My hubby never visited cemeteries, so I know he wouldn't care, and I know he's not there. Just the house he lived in while here.

Take care friend, and blessings on you and much love.

Hi possummink, owie! I guess the treatments are to get rid of pre cancerous lesions. Hubby had something we had to put on his face that turned it red and he didn't like to be in public. Glad it's not a holiday when people would want to take pictures!

Putting the banana plants out must have taken a lot of time, but I'm glad you got some rain. Yes, I think putting the bulbs in containers would be easier, but you have your own way. Maybe someday. I've heard people talk about how the deer eat the food they plant. Sort of discouraging. Can't imagine having 60 house plants. Not that I wouldn't like to, but I have very limited floor space near windows. There are 3 plants here in the family room, and 4 in the living room. All doing well. Watered them today.

Thanks for sharing not only the pictures but the explanations of the type of birds, etc, and their habits. Quite interesting and fun. Enjoy the day. It's in the mid 80s here right now.
