Hi there friends, yesterday it was 89 here. It's going up today also. So far it's okay in the house. I turned on the AC for about an hour at dinner time to cool off the house so we could sleep well.

10grands, we both have warm temps. Yes, phone calls are good and texting. I sent a message to my sis a while ago but no answer. She might be asleep or out doing something. Thank you for your interest and concern.

Bobbi sue, glad your DS was able to help you and that you slept well and are saving money! Win-win. You have a very caring son. So happy for you.

Hi goldens, good to see you today.

DannysWife, I hope that mower holds on for another year. It must be back breaking to pick up all the twigs. Yes, finding reliable, affordable workers is hard. I don't know what a fair price is. Hubby would have. And he would ALWAYS say..do you have a senior's discount? I'd be embarrased to do that. Glad your grandkids give up so much pleasure, but they do tire a person.

possummink, hope you are enjoying your time at home. That big red bird with the long beak is quite a sight. Thank you.

Have to take DD#2 to the eye doc after she gets home from work. She will have her pupils dilated, and need a driver.

MamaS, if you are reading, please let us know how you are. We all love and miss you.

daisies through the fence:

Hi Snappy and Friends,   I hope  your day was a nice one    The weather here was beautiful,  low 70ies, no humidity to speak of.   I sat on the back steps for a while today after filling the bird feeder and walking around the yard.   It was so nice to sit out and see the beauty in our yard, with the birds,  the yellow magnolia, the scent of the wisteria vines, and seeing the new growth and flowering parts of the pecan and black walnut trees.  Of course with those blossoms, comes the pollen, but so far it hasn't been too bad.

It's just nice to be home, on my own schedule, being able to nap on the sofa,  eat supper when I want( not late like in Florida).   It's only a short time I have here this time as my flight back is on the 6th of May. I have my bedroom windows open, which I can't do in Florida.   I don't know why that university had to have graduation so early in May.   I wouldn't have minded going back to FL near the end of May.

Snappy,  The red bird you mentioned is a Scarlet Ibis.   They are stunningly beautiful.   There are some, I guess in southern Florida, as their home range is in South America and some of the islands in the Caribbean and Gulf.   National bird of Trinadad and Tobago.    In Florida we see the Roseate Spoonbill, another beautiful wading bird.

I see the White Ibis all the time near my son's home and also flocks of them flying around the neighborhoods.   Sometimes, I'll see a Glossy Ibis, but they aren't as common. Below is a photo of one of the Glossy Ibis's

It's amazing to see such a wonderful variety of species of water birds and all birds.  God sure gave us a lot to enjoy and appreciate and I surely do.

Have a nice Tuesday, Everyone.   I have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday and Friday.  A 'blue light' treatment on Wed. and a mammogram on Friday.  I might not be able to be on here as much. Do need to go to the Laundromat too.  Don't like the lugging of baskets in and out, in and our. etc. Cat LOL  No choice here about that.
