Hi Possimmink and Friends:

This reminds me of my Thomas Kinkade  painting I have hanging in my entry, mine is called Hollyhock House. I purchased it because it reminded me of the farm I grew up on and all the hollyhock flowers my Grandma had planted in the front by the bay window.  I like this one with the water and swans very nice.

The black bean soup turned out really good, we all enjoyed it as did the Chicken Parmesan. I am having a lot of fun with these new cookbooks, it keeps me busy and I love the end products.

I will ask my Son next time I talk to him about the bakery. I am sure he has probably found it, who doesn't love a good bakery?  Here where we live there is not a one. I miss not having a real bakery to go too. Growing up there were family bakeries in every neighborhood. I think the chain stores like Safeway and Albertsons have run them out of business they probably can't compete.

I have made dessets with the Phylo dough and it is easy to work with. Very flaky and great with strawberries and whip cream.

Wishing you all a great week ahead...Benzi haven't seen you or Phluphy post for awhile hope all is well for the two of you. Miss reading your post and hearing about what's happening in your world. Heart

Hello, possummink, happy you have the cooler temps and low humidity to enjoy, but that you got rain. It's in the 80s today, going up to the mid 90s in a couple of days, but then down again and maybe some rain toward the weekend.

It's nice that you can spend some time with your GSs and go out to eat with them.

We have a Chili's close to us. I like it, but it's always so noisy in there.

You will be going home soon. Maybe you consider both places "home".

Am sure the kitties like the freedom even though they can't go outside.

The gardeners are here now.

Enjoy your evening,

Hi Silkeej, we have some Kincade paintings and plates. My favorite (that we have) is a scene of the cable cars in SF. They are going up and down...you can see the bridge far off. Lots of people and buildings. It's about 10"by 12" or so. Framed.

Glad you enjoyed the black bean soup and chicken parmesan. I don't cook anymore, but could. Did your new cookbook come from the Q? I don't watch the cooking shows, but do notice they sell many of the books. We have been buying fresh soups from Panera that are sold at Target. We just heat and eat.

I hope halfpint got her taxes done and is making good progress with the paper work.

I pray for her and the others we don't see. Worry about MamaS a lot.

Enjoy the day. It's in the 80s here going UP.

Hi Snappyfrappy and Friends:

I love my painting it just has special meaning for me as I said. I got it back in the day when he was really popular on the Q. Mine is probably the same size and framed with a nice oak color wood.

Yes, my cookbooks came for the Q.  I was watching In The Kitchen and Marlene Koch was on and showing her cookbooks and things you could make without all the calories and it appealed to me, really glad I got the two of them. I am enjoying trying the new recipes for meals. I enjoy cooking and baking very relaxing for me.  Haven't seen the soups at Target but really like the Panera in our local mall. Have to check it out.

I hope halfpint1 is doing well too, it is so difficult to be left with so much to do and understand like I said someone should write a book so we all would know what to do if we ever have too, it kinda a learning experience no one wants to have.

It's nice here too but only in the high 60's and 70's perfect weather for getting my new roof on, it was finally done on Friday.  Looks very nice my house is a light grey with wine shutters and the roof is grey, black and a small amount of the wine color here and there. Glad it is done, now when the wind comes whisping through I can sleep and not have to worry what's coming off this time.

Have a great rest of your week.  Sending my best wishes to all the Ladies who participate on this thread.  Hope you are all doing wellHeart
