My Panda looks just like that except it doesn't have hat and tie. I think of it as a he because he is kinda huge and  burly like a guy. He also sits by my bed along with a blue and rose teddy bear my DH gave me years ago and a stuffed silky terrier.  I think  my DH always saw me as  young  because we married so  young and he knew I loved and treasured all  the stuffed animals he gave me over the years.   Your GD sounds wonderful like mine, and I bet when she talked to Grandpa Charley he loved and heard every word. I feel our DH's may be gone from this world,  but are always very close by watching over us.
