The picture of clothes on the line reminded me of the winter in Oregon when I had to hang the diapers out and they were frozen when I took them down. I even took the washing machine in since   it was outside on the back porch. That was one of my apartment living.

Your post reminded me of when my DH and I were in the service and stationed in Germany. My first Son was just a baby and the only washing machine available was the old ringer type and no dryer available. I hung his diapers out on the line to dry  and when I went out to bring them in they were stiff as a board. It wasn't funny at the time for me or him I would imagine, but now thinking back on my youth and learning to wash clothes using a that machine it is. I finally found a local laundry to do our clothes and they came back nice and soft. Thanks for bringing back a happy memory for me. Smiley LOL

possummink, I appreciate all the pictures. We all remember hanging clothing on the lines outside. Talking over the fence with other ladies doing the same. Before dryers.

That bird with the turquoise head and all the brightly colored feathers is stunning.

Hi halfpint and Silkeej, I also recall stiff clothing. There were no fabric softeners either.

But I'm glad we had real cloth diapers rather than the plastic things. It surprises me they don't ban them. They are going after plastic bags at the store. Washing diapers isn't any harder than washing anything else and it would save so much money. I'd think young people would like that, but guess not.

Take care of yourselves and enjoy the day. It's sort of cloudy out here. My spinners are out there doing their thing. I can see them from my "command central" seat in the family room.

Got the floors washed today and pjs and undies. DD has PT after school today. Am glad for the help.
