Hello from Snowy and Cold April in Ohio..Yes, in mid-April we have snow and cold which (according to the weather personnel) is to be gone by mid-week.. 

I had one of my special needs brothers for the week and it went well.. We did some shopping, went out to dinner and watched a few movies.. I think we had a good week.. 

Since my husband passed (3 years ago), I don't sleep well either and can count on my 2 hands the number of times I got a good nights sleep.. I've tried the prescription sleeping pills, ZZQuil, Tylenol PM and even Advil PM, nothing really works; I just haven't gotten accustomed to sleeping alone.. 

I'm getting back "on track" with daily life, it's not easy, but I'm pressing forward.. Next week I have some personal errands to do and looking forward to them, my hair, maybe a manicure, I have a taste for soup so maybe get the items for that, the bank, visiting the grandchildren and of course the ever popular "clean the house".. LOL.. 

I hope that everyone here who may not be feeling themselves finds comfort..

possummink, hope by now you are at home enjoying your family there and that you do get rain without the heat. Thank you for posting the pictures of those stunning sea creatures. It's hard to imagine more how the Pacific could contain more colorful ones, but if you say so, I'm sure it is. Wish you could have come out here. We have a wonderful aquarium in Long Beach. I don't have what it takes to walk around through it, but the family has been, and it's amazing. DD walked in and I showed them to her. She said often those colorful fish are poisonous. Later this week a man is coming to her school with his own collection of sea creatures. The kids get to touch and hold exotic things. He's a BIG hit every year. DD has learned a lot from him.

DannysWife, it's good to see you today. You are having unseasonal snow and we are having some rain. Several days of it, but it was the showering, gentle, soaking kind that we so needed. The earth out here is so packed it can't accept the downpours so we get mudslides. This was wonderful, and it's still cloudy and cool. Maybe we will get more.

I'm supposed to go to get an xray of my lower spine tomorrow, but if it's raining, I dont' want DD driving out here. I don't need an appointment for this, so we can reschedule.

So wonderful of you to take your brother into your home and just do things with him.

My SIL has a brother who is autistic, and the other 3 brothers take turns hosting him for special things and holidays, etc. He lives in a group home the rest of the time.

Sorry you have trouble sleeping. It's one thing that doesn't bother me. If anything, I sleep too much. Way too much, so maybe it's an escape?

Glad you are taking some time for YOU this week. Sometimes we neglect ourselves, but a hair cut or mani/pedi can boost our spirits. And what's not to love about home made soup? Let us know what kind you make, maybe we will get inspired to emulate you.

possummink, thanks for the picture. Hope you are safely at home now enjoying the things you love and getting to see the people you have missed.

I did get to go to have the xray done today. Am glad about having that done and hope it shows something that can be helped.
