@BoopOMatic   I'm so sorry for the loss your Liza.  No, to most, they are not just a dog.  Your heart won't forget her, but I know Enzo can now bring some happiness back to you.

@qvcaddition   I have not seen that poem before, thank you for sharing.  Take care both of you.

@BoopOMatic

Glad you are feeling better.  Have fun with your new puppy.

A lot of people have lost animals.  They are special to us and not just a dog or cat or whatever the animal is they have lost, but our companion for some, and part of our family and sometime the only family who cares.

It takes awhile to get over the grief and a new animal to love helps.

I'm glad you turned to God.  I do all the time when happy or sad.

It really does help a lot, but we are restricted on here to talk about it.

Prayer is the best medicine.

Hugs to all of you and Enzo.  You have a wonderful husband. xoxo

Hi @qvcaddition  yes my faith is what gets me through so many situations! But as you say, we are not to discuss such matters here.

It's a shame, because it could help others.

But this is their forum, and we must abide by their rules.

Having a lot of work done on this house - so much I'll probably make a separate post about it - we get one thing fixed only to discover something else wrong!

I'm enjoying Enzo - he certainly has the energy! I'd never had a puppy before. He's so cute and I give him playtime and I'm also trying to train him basic commands. Plenty of YT videos for that - one dog trainer I like is based in Alaska and is very good.

Enzo is a smart little dude and so handsome.

 LOL

I expect he's the coolest dude on the block.

I'm taking him tomorrow morning for the last of his puppy shots.

Mr. Boop's pug, Pansy, isn't infatuated with him yet, as he keeps trying to get her to play with him and she's not into it.

I want to get him a little t-shirt to wear. That would be so cute....xo

BOOP, So glad you are having fun with ENZO.  I,M too old to get a puppy. They are so cute, but. A lot of energy and work.

I have been shaping my 17 bushes. I have done 11 and have 6 more to finish.  Doing 2 a day.   My son doesn,t have the patients to do them.

Hired a Gardner once and he hacked them. I do them once every year.

They are slow growing.  I did two cypress trees a couple of weeks ago.

I shape them round. Wish I never put them in, but they were so small.

My neighbor called me and artist today and another said my front yard looks like Better Homes and Garden. Nice of them.

We have had pretty hot weather here for three days, so I had to stop.

I hate hot weather, love fog.

Next week is my 88 BD and having company coming from out of town for a couple of days.  Everyone want to go wIne tasting.. I'm Italian and grew up on homemade wine.  Now, so  many fancy ones. We had what was called ,    "  DAGO RED". My Dad and Uncle made in the basement.

Anyway, it will be fun to have compay.

Take care and have fun with the new baby.. Hugs XO

@qvcaddition, I missed your birthday! I hope it was a good one! And that you had a lovely visit with your son.

Well, Enzo is very popular - we went to the vet yesterday with Pansy, my husband's Pug, (nothing serious - she is fine) and all the vet techs had a FIT over Enzo, and one even offered to BUY HIM - LOL!

He is a lot of fun and so intelligent.

We are having some serious HEAT where I live - I believe you're in SoCal?

How is your fur baby? xoxo

HI Boop. Had a good BD with both sons.  Cake, flowers, money and a big dinner last night with friends of family.  Fifteen people at dinner. Old friends I get to see once a year because they live out of town, but come to the wine country for a couple of days once a year.  I live  in Northern Cal. Wine country. Everyone either wants to go to Disneyland or wine country.  This week, the fire started in the area we where going to visit, so went to the coast instead.  Beautiful and cool there and famous places and wineries to visit.

The weather going to be hot today and then will cool to 80's tomorrow until a few more days and up again to 96/100. Hate it.

So happy you are happy with Enzo.  Puppies are so cute and fun, but not for people my age.  Melanie seems to be doing better and taking longer walks.

She lets me know which way she wants to go and the last two mornings it was the longer way.  I have been giving her small pieces of steak as a treat and maybe that is what is doing it.

I would love to miss birthdays now but better than the alternative. I'm fortunate for 88, I am still strong and active. In fact when I finish here, i am going to do a Senior zumba class and ride my bike five miles.

The rest of the day I will continue with  writing my memoirs.  To hot this afternoon to do any gardening.  I only have six more bushes to round out and finish.  Has to be done early morning before sun comes out.

Good to hear from you not being sad and enjoying the new member of your family.  hugss xoxo
