lesson learned...

[ Edited ]

My outside faucet got stripped , it began leaking in the basement...We wanted to go away  last week couldn't leave with water leaking in basement .My husband likes to keep it local.Well we have been waiting 12 days for fixing, these are our neighbors, expensive furnace this year installers who came back six times for  wiring that was wrong no heat in rooms ,  baseboards running when water came on. He wanted to give them another chance.I got tired of the we will call you in an hour today, since 9 am.I called a big company got appt for Sunday 2 hr time frame . My husband called them  to cancel ,furnace company ,  they were shocked he couldn't wait.Tough poop.We are installing new ductless , they won't be the installers now . From now on  Appt only ,company who answers phones..I told my husband i will make the appointments from know on, nice only goes so far...  Getting better at being agressive...proud of myself!....Maryanne

@Still keeper of the koi I know how you feel.We had our comcast tv,internet and cable go out yesterday.Called said they would be here this morning...no show.Called they said this afternoon between two and four.Sent email to DH cell phone they will be here tomorrow. What the heck.My DH took day off and has been stuck sitting in house all day waiting for them.He said some bad words and told them we have had nothing but trouble with their service for the last six months.

i hope you get your problems fixed. You can shut the water off to your outside faucet while you wait so it doesn't keep leaking.

Best of luck to you, @Still keeper of the koi.

It can (and is) aggravating when things around the home konk out and the fix isn't there right away.

I hold dear my list of tradesmen.  They are treated like royalty if they satisfy my list of needs.  And I try to be proactive, so emergencies are rare.

Always something!  I take little for granted around the house.
