I check cancer board this question as not there
after I had chemo my hair came back curly. Not a problem but the texture is so fine
I have a hard time finding hair product to make it stiffer. Anyone else have this issue and what did you use?
i am grateful to be alive but after all a gal likes her hair

Chemo curls are common. They will loosen in time. My problem is the crown of my hair is still thin but the rest has come back. Try googling chemo curls.

crazered----congrats on finishing your chemo!! How are you doing?? My hair grew back very fast and started out curly---I was thrilled with that as my before hair was and still is , stick straight. But it is very fine and thin still. I finished chemo in 2012. I have been using a brand called Nioxin for thinning hair that I like--check on Amazon---and there are alot of thickening, shampoos and products out there too. I don't use conditioners much--makes my hair too smooth. Coloring and highlighting does help as it kind of damages your hair but prob after chemo--chemicals on your head are the last thng you want. Nothing wrong in wanting your hair back-----hope you continue to do well.

That's very common. Two women I once worked with said the same thing, after chemo for breast cancer, their hair came back but the texture was curly.

It starts out curly but that doesn't last. It will slowly go back to what is normal for you My experience is my hair has been very fine and delicate ever since. The very last thing on earth I'd do now is put damaging chemicals like hair dye on my hair.

A friend of mine had chemo. When her hair grew back it was curly/wavy and course.

When my fathers hair came back after chemo it was snow white and eventually went back to his natural color.

After chemo for me, my hair came back with my hair the same way I started straight. Never had curly hair in my life.

My experience as well. When hair came back I was happy but it was all gray/white and I was trying to determine if I wanted to embrace the gray bc I didn't want to use chemicals on my hair after chemo. I figured I'd put some time between chemo and if I wanted to color it. I let it grow out shaggy a few times and kept getting haircuts and after about the third one, my dark brown hair returned.

Mine came back wavy and much finer, but since I had a HUGE head of hair it wasnt an issue.
Be gentle, massage your scalp during shampoos, and overall be kind to yourself.
Chemo is a major kick in the keister and it really takes some time to fully recover. Blessings @crazered
