I have seen the beautiful Bald Eagle up close at a raptor sanctuary and what an impressive bird!!!!  This photo shows it as the bird of prey it is, powerful and majestic!

Eagles are beautiful and powerful.  There are many of them where we spend the summer at the lake.

Their nests are huge.  I could probably fit in one.

Over the years, I have seen eagles glide down and fly off with fish, rabbits and ducks.  It is exciting to see, but makes me sad.

We never let our two small dogs out alone.  Eagles have been known to take them too.

He's a beautiful bird and I know that it's part of the food chain, but feel sorry for the fish. BTW, not sure when eagles lay eggs but Google Duke Eagle Cam. It's located in Hillsboro N.J. on the estate of the late Doris Duke. She was a tobacco heiress. Anyhow, it show's the eggs hatching, feeding, etc.

We have an eagle's nest about 200 feet from our house.  We frequently see them pulling weeds from the open, no ice, part of the lake.  They are reinforcing the nest for what we hope is a new baby eagle.
