I think you may be taking a risk, hiring a plumber without going through the proper steps or getting an OK.  Be very sure of what's in your lease and what's legal.  Maybe you can suggest to the landlord that you line up the plumber and either have the bill sent to him or you pay it and deduct from the rent.  Whatever is agreed upon, get it in writing.

I have a relative who has always had a house, but no working sprayers in any of them!

Maybe it's the most popular faucet brand in that location.

I would go to youtube and watch a video about that problem , then if it wasn't complicated, I'd do it myself. In this day and age, totally bugging anyone to do their job will prob just tick them off and it would never get done. 

I live in a big apartment complex and I have to say that the maintenace guys are pretty quick about fixing things around here.

Must be an epidemic.  Out kitchen sprayer, my niece's and my sister's all went kaput recently.  Hubby fixed ours.  The other two rent and their maintenance staff fixed them.  It's an easy fix, the part hubby bought was inexpensive.  A plumber will probably charge big bucks. I personally would wait for my landlord to do it.  I like my kitchen sprayer but I could live without it for a while.

Imo, you should wait for the Landlord no matter how long it takes. This is not an integral part of your faucet, just a nice thing to have. You do have running water which is the important part.

If you hire a plumber, you will wind up paying for it out of pocket as you do have water and the Landlord said its on his list.

Also, you really need to read your lease closely to see what you can and cannot do or hire. If you do fix the sprayer yourself you run the risk of having real problems if you damage something.

@Luvsmyfam  I wouldn't call a plumber but my landlord did and he paid to have it replaced.

@Luvsmyfam  I agree, nag the heck out him AND do not allow him to say he will put it on his list. Pin him down to exactly when he will be there to fix it. Keep track by writing down dates and times and what was said by each of you in case you need to get an attorney involved.
