Re: When do you plan to decorate?

I don't.  Gave that stuff up years ago and the junk that went with it.  It's liberating and enjoyable.  It's always been for the children anyway.

@ThinkingOutLoud I'll be doing the same exact thing as you!   I love Christmas and simply cannot wait for the season to start.  I'm happy we are already in November Smiley Happy

Re: When do you plan to decorate?

I only put up a tree and I'll put it up probably around November 15th.

Re: When do you plan to decorate?

We Need a Little Christmas Now!

Haul out the holly
Put up the tree before my spirit falls again
Fill up the stocking
I may be rushing things, but deck the halls again now
For we need a little Christmas, right this very minute
Candles in the window, carols at the spinet
Yes, we need a little Christmas, right this very minute
Hasn't snowed a single flurry, but Santa dear we're in a hurry
Climb down the chimney
Turn on the brightest string of lights I've ever seen
Slice up the fruit cake
It's time we've hung some tinsel on the evergreen bough
For I've grown a little leaner, grown a little colder
Grown a little sadder, grown a little older
And I need a little angel sitting on my shoulder
Need a little Christmas now
For we need a little music, need a little laughter
Need a little singing ringing through the rafter
And we need a little snappy, happy ever after
We need a little Christmas now!

It's never been about kids for me and it doesn't have to be that way. My focus of the season and decorating choices (ie no santas, reindeer, elves...) is what makes it enjoyable and it gets moreso every year. Smiley Happy

Re: When do you plan to decorate?

As soon as the Thanksgiving tables are cleared.

The lights guys are scheduled for next week but we probably won't turn them on until the 1st.

Re: When do you plan to decorate?

Most likely Thanksgiving evening.  If not then, it will be first thing Friday.  I got a couple of new things last year and this year so I'm really itching to get things decorated but I will wait until my usual time of Thanksgiving evening.

Re: When do you plan to decorate?

I took down Halloween decorations the night of Halloween.   I never have trick or treaters so no problem there.  Put Thanksgiving up same night.  Will do Christmas on Black Friday, I do not go out shopping ever on Black Friday so plenty of time all day to do the switch.

Re: When do you plan to decorate?

Fall comes down and Christmas goes up Thanksgiving weekend.  There's a home near us that always goes into full Christmas mode the day after Halloween.

Re: When do you plan to decorate?

@CherryHugs  As soon as I recover from Thanksgiving. I usually can barely walk the day after Thanksgiving, so I'll probably wait until the following Monday. DH brings everything from the basement and sets up the tree. It takes me at least a week to decorate.
