It appears, unless I missed it/them, nobody wants to answer my question(s).  Oh well, will add to my many others.

Ok, now I can respond.  I have a window (2-6) where I can eat.  I might do a little snack around 3 but have a real meal at 5.  That way, done by 6.  Then the next day, I don't have anything, until the window time comes around again.  During the "fast" I do water and coffee.

Pants feel looser, and scale shows loss.  This is working really well for me.  Sorry so long to respond.  I needed to see what's what first.

The 16 hour fast was my New Years resolution.  Going well - Occasionally I skip it.  Pretty easy to follow, since I usually stop eating after7pm. Then, the next day, I have a late breakfast or early lunch.  I don't weigh myself, but my clothes definitely feel roomier.

Sorry no body can give you an answer.  With IF you spend part of a day (say 12 hours fasting) then you eat healthy meals.  I believe you do this every day.  Hope this helps

@hckynut   I've just started reading up on this myself so I'm no expert.  To me it seems you just eat fewer meals a day   ......then fast some days. I can see where it might not work for a diabetic which I am not.  Right now I'm only eating (on most days) two meals a day and maintaining my weight.  I do need to lose weight but it's hard with a very swollen knee and a painful shoulder to get the exercise I need so I am really considering this diet.  To me it sounds like eating less every day and on some days eating nothing!
