Why isn't your husband helping?  If the triage nurse couldn't understand you, why didn't your husband get on the phone?

I don't understand why no one is helping you @ECBG .

Re: Update ECBG

[ Edited ]

I don't get it.  You initially said 2 medical professionals told you to go to the ER.  Now you are downplaying it and saying it's a non emergency situation.   Which is it?

Did I miss something?  I didn't read anything about blood clots.  ECBG said here ankles were swollen and she'd been prescribed diuretics.  That's not the treatment for blood clots.  Fluid retention can be the result of many things.

In a call out to Shanus, ECBG said she had a blood clot @Kachina624 ."Calling Shanus, August 6". Among Friends.

@Trinity11

She has had a blood clot for several months now, when I advised her not to go on a long car ride to the Gulf Coast with a blood clot but she went anyway.  I think ECBG is a noncompliant patient.

@Nonametoday.  I never heard of a blood clot going untreated.  Usually drugs are given immediately to dissolve it as it can migrate to the heart or lungs.  My dad got them several times and was even hospitalized so they could give him IV drugs.

Perhaps she doesn't recognized the potential seriousness of some of these conditions.

@ECBG  you cant get up the stairs now and all day a healthy husband sits there cannot take you to an ER?  I don't think you need the ER.

What about your son and daughter in love? Where are they after 30 pounds weight loss? Health specialists do not come to you at the snap of your finger by the way.

This is a thread that does not make sense.  Sorry for your "troubles"......

I think she started on blood thinners which may be causing the swelling issues. Be kind everyone when you have health issues like this sometimes you are not your best advocate for many reasons.

@CoffeeNut   I am confused about the health situation as I think others are also.

I was under the impression we were talking swollen extremities, unable to walk, pain, significant weight loss, and a blood clot.

Now, that seems not to be the case at all.

I hope everything is resolved for the OP, one way or the other.

@ECBG - I am sorry to hear you are dealing with this situation. Please either go to the ER or have an ambulance take you, if not your husband. If it is a blood clot, this is serious stuff and needs to be addressed asap.

In 2022 I had a pain going from my backside down my leg. It felt like sciatica which I have had many times. I did everything as usual excercises, slow walks and the pain got worse. I went to the Urgent Care facility and the Dr too thought it was sciatica so she gave me a shot. If the pain got worse come back in. Well the Saturday before Easter the pain was so bad I couldn't walk - off to the ER I went. Sure enough it was a blood clot (not a DVT) and spent a good portion of the day. They prescribed Eliquis and two weeks later took me off because the clot had dissolved.

I am a healthy, very active person walking 2-4 miles a day. I couldn't believe I had a blood clot and neither could anyone else.

Let us know how you are doing, if you can. I will be thinking of you - riley1

Being kind is advising a patient to follow medical professional advice which is what I think everybody here is doing.  ECBG seems very noncompliant which is not very good for her long-term outcome. My husband has been that way, the reason right now, he is in such poor health.  He would not follow my advice.
