Unless those relatives are grandchildren they would all receive regrets and a card with best wishes.

 

Don't do without something for yourself because you feel obligated to give a gift.

 

I have young grand nieces and one grand nephew that wouldn't know me if they fell over me so if we ever did get invited to something it would be a no and there would be no guilt in not going and not sending a gift.

I would not send/give gifts to relatives of friends. Send a card and be done - no need to feel guilty.

I have decided already to make a donation for one couple. I don't do gift cards since the last three I have purchased in stores had been drained of value and were worthless. I may have a star named after the new adopted baby...have done that for two grandkids and they loved it.
