@willomenia   My adult son always catches them with a glass and paper when in the house and then sets them free outside.  They do keep many other bugs away.  I don't go out of my way to kill them, but I don't catch and release them either.

I catch them and put them outside too.  They eat the other insects around the place. I kind of like and admire spiders, read a book about them. We don't have black widows here.

I like them.  You should never kill a spider.  They are good creatures and if you hate insects you would know why. If one is in the house, catch them and free them.  But they're in your house for a good reason.  Spiders are of course, are not insects.

The fear is what they look like.  We probably look horrible to them.

I can't imagine how a spider is getting rid of anything else that I would dread. Maybe mosquitos?  We don't really have a mosquito problem here.  They're the only thing I can think of that would be bad.

One of the many reasons I love my house is, I've never seen a spider.  I think it's because we had that blown in insulation put in when we were building, which seemed to seal every nook and cranny.  I would literally have to open a door to let one in.

What we do have--this time of year--are these huge crickets that JUMP!  And they look like spiders at first glance.  I saw two last night on our patio below the deck.  They don't bother me.  They're kind of stupid.  I've seen them jump and crash right into the side of the house.  Woman LOL

Thanks for the laugh!!

I can only picture how funny this is to see! Smiley LOL
