The Last Daily Positive Thread

Hello my friends!  Today I received a call from QVC saying that this thread will have to come to a close, no more religious articles, or threads allowed, so with saddness in my heart, this will be the last one. It's been going on daily for the last 8 or 9 years, and I knew someday it will have to close, but it wouldn't be my decision.  I really wish with all my heart that I could post my email address like I could in the past for anyone who would want to email me. I send these inspirations daily on my list every morning. Some of you are already on the list.  I have met many wonderful people through this thread, which I am forever grateful for.  I do have some emails from friends from here, but wish I could get in touch with those who would like this list. I'm on Facebook. Guess I cannot even say my last name on here but anyway, God has a plan. Let us continue to pray for one another, and thanks for reading the thread all these years! You are all very special to me!

I will for sure miss all of you!  May God bless you always!

I'm allowed to put these last inspirations in tonight.

Stay close to God because He is the solution to all problems.  Lord, I will
live in Your presence, protected by You and Your peace will be mine.

"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and
I will give you rest."  ~Matthew 11:28

M E D I T A T I O N   F O R   T H E   D A Y

"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and
I will give you rest."  For rest from the cares of life, we can turn to
God each day in prayer and communion.  Real relaxation and serenity come
from a deep sense of the fundamental goodness of the universe.  God's
everlasting arms are underneath all and can support us.  We can commune
with God, not so much for petitions to be granted as for the rest that
comes from our relying on God's will and God's purposes for our lives.
We can be sure of God's strength available to us, and conscious of God's
support.  We can wait quietly until that true rest from God fills our
being.

P R A Y E R   F O R   T H E   D A Y

I pray that I may be conscious of God's support today.  I pray that I
may rest safe and sure therein.

ACCEPT ME

Accept me as I am,
I have no guarantee.
A claim to perfection I have not.
Perfect I cannot be.

I, like you, am human.
Prone to make mistakes.
Failure is not a character flaw,
just a part of the human makeup.

I live, I laugh and I also learn.
My knowledge is incomplete.
I am searching all the time,
in waking hours as well as sleep.

I have a long road to travel,
as well as you do.
We learn our lessons on the way.
Wisdom we shall accrue.

So please accept me
as I am,
because I am just me.
No one like me in the world.
That is my only guarantee.

This is how I feel,
I have a heart, open it and see.
Please take care.
That's all I am, just me.

And he said unto me,
My grace is sufficient for thee:
for my strength is made perfect
in weakness.
Most gladly therefore
will I rather glory in my infirmities,
that the power of Christ
may rest upon me.
2 Cr 12:9

Sometimes asking someone for help
Is Not a sign of weakness
But yet a sign of STRENGTH

Is It Any Wonder

Is it any wonder that the world is filled with pain
when we set aside the beauty for our own material gain?

Is it any wonder that lovers' hearts grow dim
when we do not hold in honor the love we find within?

Is it any wonder that the homeless are weak and frail
when we put them out of house and home to seek another trail?

Is it any wonder that nature falls to ruin and rubble
because we take with no return allowing it to crumble?

Is it any wonder that children are lead astray
because we did not take the time to show the proper way?

Is it any wonder that evil is strong and bold
when we do not see goodness and let our hearts grow cold?

Is it any wonder racism flourishes, my friend,
when we do not see PEOPLE, but just the color of skin?

Is it any wonder that friendships die and fade
when we forget the reasons in which they were first made?

Is it any wonder our world is scarred and polluted
when we allow our industries to strip it as they're suited?

Is it any wonder there is such depression and sorrow
when we do not seem to care what will happen tomorrow?

Is it any wonder we do not see the values of our brothers
when we hold our own selves above the needs of others?

Is it any wonder our world is like it is
when we sit and grumble with actions we don't give?

Is it any wonder we wait in fear of Judgment Day
when we do the things we do, then forget to pray?

The Man Whispered
The man whispered, "God, speak to me".
And a meadowlark sang.

But the man did not hear.

So the man yelled "God, speak to me".
And the thunder & lightning rolled across the sky.

But the man did not listen.

The man looked around and said, "God, let me see you."
And a star shined brightly.

But the man did not see.

And, the man shouted, "God, show me a miracle".
And a life was born.

But the man did not notice.

So, the man cried out in despair, "Touch me, God, and let me know you are here".
Whereupon, God reached down and touched the man.

But the man brushed the butterfly away and walked on.

I found this to be a great reminder that God is always around us in the little and simple things that we take for granted, even in our electronic age... so I would like to add one more:

The man cried "God, I need your help"...
and an e-mail arrived reaching out with good news and encouragement.

But the man deleted it and continued crying...

The good news is that you are loved.

Don't miss out on a blessing because it isn't packaged the way that you expect.

   Expect the unexpected....
      Have A Happy Day!

He Doesn't Remember

A much loved-minister of God once carried a secret burden of
long-past sin deep in his heart. He had committed the sin many years
before, during his Bible school training. No one knew what he had done,
but they did know he had repented. Even so, he had suffered years of
remorse over the incident without any sense of God's forgiveness.

A woman in his church deeply loved God and claimed to have visions

in which Jesus Christ spoke to her. The minister, skeptical of her
claims, asked her, "The next time you speak to the Lord, would you
please ask Him what sin your minister committed while he was in Bible
school." The woman agreed.

When she came to the church a few days later the minister asked, "Did

He visit you?" She said, "Yes."

"And did you ask Him what sin I committed?"

"Yes, I asked Him," she replied

"Well, what did He say?"

"He said, 'I don't remember.'"

The forgiveness we received in Christ is complete. As far as God is

concerned, our sin is over with and forgotten. We must learn to rest
in His forgiveness and release the guilt and shame of our past sin, so
that we may walk in God's rest and peace.

September 20 - Jesus Calling

Try to see things more and more from My perspective. Let the Light of My Presence so fully fill your mind that you view the world through Me. When little things don’t go as you had hoped, look to Me lightheartedly and say, “Oh, well.” This simple discipline can protect you from being burdened with an accumulation of petty cares and frustrations. If you practice this diligently, you will make a life-changing discovery: You realize that most of the things that worry you are not important. If you shrug them off immediately and return your focus to Me, you will walk through your days with lighter steps and a joyful heart. When serious problems come your way, you will have more reserves for dealing with them. You will not have squandered your energy on petty problems. You may even reach the point where you can agree with the apostle Paul that all your troubles are light and momentary, compared with the eternal glory being achieved by them.

A man’s steps are directed by the Lord. How then can anyone understand his own way?
—Proverbs 20:24

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Re: The Last Daily Positive Thread

Dear Gloriajean:: You and I know that for 9 years this thread has stood against many trying to have it removed.  There is nothing in the standards that specifies 'Religion' is not allowed - in fact,  this thread was moved specifically to Among Friends to keep a select few happy over on Chat.

I would expect that no longer can a poster start a thread requesting prayers for certain intentions, either. After all, fair is fair.

My suggestion is to have a daily "chat" here so that you and the other posters can stay in touch since emails can no longer be posted.  I have many emails for posters but none for those who have been posting recently.

Nobody was ever forced to read this thread but the control issue of some people never ceases to make me just shake my head.

If there is anything I can do to help you, email me.

Re: The Last Daily Positive Thread

@gloriajean, I am so sorry!  Such a loss for all of us. You have provided such a wonderful service and you are someone I wish I could meet in person.  This is the only board I have joined, and  I stay away from most threads because, well, because.  Thank you so much for letting us in on your family news and learning about you.

You, Harlene, Nancy, and others will stay in my prayers.

@meallen616, I will miss your photos!

@nj, Have a great year with your students!  I will miss hearing about them.

@gloriajean, Hold those babies close. I know you will.

Love to all.

Re: The Last Daily Positive Thread

I'm so sorry that it's come to this. I will miss your threads. Sometimes we all need positivity in our lives. I'm saddened that there are people who select being offended over seeing things for the spirit of which they are intended.

Stay blessed, Miss Gloria Jean.

Re: The Last Daily Positive Thread

@gloriajean, I just read @Cakers3 suggestion and if you would continue to post about your day and family, I'll stay a member. If you can't find it in your heart to do that, I would completely understand, and I'll be done with this board. You have been such a positive influence!

Re: The Last Daily Positive Thread

Dear GloriaJean, First, I would personally like to thank you so very much for your wonderful and inspiring posts, each and every day.  I know this has been a labor of love for you, and your thread has been such a source of inspiration for me and so many others.

I am so sorry it had to end this way.  It is quite odd that QVC has such a market in religious jewelry and objects but feels a thread like yours can no longer exist.  Not to mention sales of Christ-mas

(as in the birth of Christ) items, and Easter (celebration of the Risen Christ) items.  I know there have been some complaints from a few people, but I think the majority of folks here are quite tolerant of believers in general.  There is a lovely Jewish woman who also posts, and I am assuming her weekly thread will also become a thing of the past.

All my very best wishes to you, my friend.  You have been a source of peace and comfort for many.

Blessings to you,

Pam

I am so sorry to hear this!! Truly sad!!

I hope its ok for me to get clarification. Is QVC saying that there can be NO religious content on the boards?

May God bless you and keep you. God and His word will never be silenced. You are a blessing!!

Re: The Last Daily Positive Thread

@gloriajean, it is with great sadness that I read the words "The Last Daily Thread".  I cannot describe what your posts have meant to me.  During two great losses in my life your posts sustained  and uplifted me.  I still refer to posts I have saved when I need that lift.  I will so miss these daily blessings.  Continued blessings to you and your family.  I hope you will continue to update us on the twins.  Thank you for the blessing you have been to me and so many!  God Bless You,  Jill

@gloriajean❤️,  I've only posted on your thread occasionally and I haven't been here on the forums much in recent weeks...   but I saw your comments and really wanted to echo what @Cakers3 said.    And @Ruby Laine's, @KaliaMonet's, @SleeplessinSD's, @LeighMarie's, @PamfromCT's and @luvswesties's warm sentiments, too.    It's a given that we need to work within QVC's decisions here, but I think for the time being the idea of a simple daily, positive chat would be lovely if you feel so inclined.    Many posters do this in various sub-forums, and it's a nice way to keep in touch.   I, too, have email connections with some posters but wouldn't know how to make that useful right now and none of us wants to upset the apple cart while we might try to brainstorm.

Please know that you, and everyone who reads and posts here, are important and special to many dear souls whose names we probably never will know.     Right now, I'll send gentle cyberhugs to you and I hope you will let me know if there's anything I can do to be helpful.
