Re: The CA Thread - NO, SO and In-Between

@Moonchilde. I see all of those animals and they really aren't afraid of us, much!  What I see most often are bobcats.  I walk right by them, as they're sitting by the gopher holes.  I encourage them. Smiley Happy

Re: The CA Thread - NO, SO and In-Between

@september, dynamite (figuratively) has failed to rid us of our gophers. Kitty does do her bit with that, however.  Sometimes 1-2 a day in the summer months. But it’s not enough :-(

I had a friend in SoCal who lives in the foothills and makes her yard a haven for raccoons, opossums and skunks - and she has a houseful of cats. She would have the same mama raccoon come back for multiple years with litters. And the raccoons would play with the baby skunks, who were adorable. She only had kitty-skunk issues once - kitty just had to investigate new babies under the house and mama skunk was not amused. But after that, the kitties left the skunks alone. Her property was well fenced, but coyotes would still get in. She’d go out and chase them off/hose them, whatever.

  1. @september, this is the Christmas Gift Fair I mentioned before. It’s this Fri-Sat-Sun. As I recall, they made a very good hot toddy that made shopping a lot more fun ;-)

@Moonchilde. That sounds like fun!  I've been to this fairground in the past, and found it to be spacious with lots of nearby parking.  I have random things scheduled for fri-sun.   Maybe if it rains Saturday, one of my events will be canceled and I might head out that way!

@september, if I’m remembering correctly, they even had a shuttle back to the parking lot!
