I went to the Dollar Tree to buy hard candy for work (I keep a large jar there) and the store has been turned upside down.  Very little selection in the candy aisle.

I asked the associate about it and he said that they're just moving things around to make room for the $5 items.

The packages of candy that were $1 are now $1.25.

I still haven't gone into our neighborhood Five Below store, but I have a feeling that the dollar stores are going to look pretty much the same.

Guess I'll stop at Dollar General to pick up more candy since my Dollar Tree is under transformation.

Just stay away from the Family Dollar stores.  Especially their food items.šŸ€šŸšŸ€

@geezerette

I've never shopped at Family Dollar.  Don't know why, but I've avoided it.

Guess now I know why! Woman LOL

Hmmmm......

Very interesting about Dollar Tree and $5.00 items.  I just wonder what they will be and where on earth they will find room for them in my stores.  I like to go there for gift bags, tissue and greeting cards.  And I like some of their seasonal decoration items.  I just found two really cute felt bunnies.

I also like their jigsaw puzzles.  They are smaller and I can work them quicker than some of the larger more expensive ones.  I hope they do not ruin themselves trying to have too much and too expensive.  Will be interesting to see what they come up with.

@4kitties

We have Five Below here -- it's like a dollar store except that most of the items are more than a dollar.

I'd hate to see all the dollar stores become five dollar stores.

Their gift bags, ribbon and cards are a steal.  I haven't checked out the puzzles because I do all mine online.  Never lose a piece! Woman LOL

Stay well! Will see you again around Easter.

@bikerbabe

Happy trails to you,

Until we meet again.

Happy trails to you,

Keep smiling until then...

Good luck with the social media thing. Heart

I already failed with my "no coffee for Lent" idea.  I can do without the coffee, it's the cream and sugar I'm craving.🤪

@bikerbabe has more will power than I.

@geezerette

How 'bout keeping the coffee and cream, but just eliminating the sugar?

@just bee

I'd rather keep the cream and sugar and eliminate the coffee!

Omelette with veggies

Lox and bagels

Anchovy pizza

Linguine and clams (or shrimp)

Fish and chips

Salad

Okay, not everyone likes anchovies.  But an anchovy and jalapeno pizza is pretty snacky!

Re: The Bee Hive -- March 2022 Edition

I gave up milk duds a long time ago. I am keeping my coffee with sugar and cream. I just traded my priorities.
I know it's not great but I haven't been stopping by Dollar General in a long time...

Everybody goes through life with a crutch of some sort..
That's how I look at it. I now need my coffee to get up!.

Mari and I spent yesterday outside cleaning up sticks. She was chewing tree limbs in the middle of the pile.
She is so smart and beautiful šŸ˜ Then she got in the muddy garden and turned brown. Put her muddy feet in pool water outside and she slept 😓 We had fun...

Going for another cup....Brisk out....for a bit...
Hang loose everybody or try to....

If Mari is like Carla, she'll drag all the big sticks out of your nice neat pile!šŸ˜–

I agree that we all have crutches, and I'm not about to give up all my pleasures by a long shot.  But I've really indulged myself too much for too long.  Combine that with the prices of everything going up, and I have to pick and choose what I can keep, and what needs to go.

Enjoy your coffee with cream and sugar!ā˜•ļø

Her mouth isn't quite big enough yet! Someday she will get around to the big ones!

Just trying to wake up today...stayed up late last night...
Tossing and turning. This just started lately and not loving being wide awake in the middle of the night.

Re: The Bee Hive -- March 2022 Edition

I agree, life is to short to give up everything. That will never be me but I too have been indulging for way too long.  Today, so far, I am having a decent eating day and I hope to keep to it all day. Of course it is easy for the first few days but today I feel like a stuffed sausage in my jeans and I am going to keep wearing them for motivation, until I can’t bear it any longer.

The dollar store should be renamed to the 1.25 store.  The other day it cost me an extra 10 bucks.

today is a beautiful day and I will attempt a walk later.  But right now I am going to turn on the tellie and kick back for a moment.  I have some chores to do so it is time to procrastinate. It’s the right thing to do. šŸ™ƒ

So glad to see you are really loving Mari.  She sounds like a sweetheart and just the thing to keep you young. She is a keeper.

I hope Everyone is hanging in there. These days I just don’t know what to think or how I am even feeling.  I hope you all are keeping a little extra on hand.
