I even had a mourning dove outside the window, on the ladder, considering building its nest there.

They really aren't very sharp, are they?

Everything was fine.  I was watching The Idolmaker, drinking tea... then I checked our local news.

Albuquerque never fails to fail.

😆 No, not really.  But they sound cool.  And they eat the millet seed that none of the other birds like.

Your news sounds like our news.  I think you have neater landmarks to abuse.

Well... and many of them are probably older.  This one is from the 1700s.

Why do doves always want to build their flimsy nests in the worst possible places?

Why do I even ask?  I bought a house in Albuquerque.

Doves aren't the only ones.

I have barn swallows that insist on building nests on the brick of the windows on my front porch.  There's maybe a 1" wide 'ledge' to do this.  And they'll manage if I let them.  Then I have a huge mess to deal with all season.

They're so bold that even the cats and dog don't scare them off.  So every spring and summer I have garbage bags taped to my front windows flapping in the breeze to scare them off.

Real classy.

I have lots of birds in my tree's. Thank God my tree's are on the sides and back of property! Saves my windows...

Beautiful landmark! We don't have those kind of things here for anybody to destroy. My small town doesn't normally have to many problems except for drug runners. Many people addicted to meth and whatever else they sell.
We do lock all doors and prepared for break ins. Things changing so fast.

I love Marching into spring normally....Things aren't normal though.

Need coffee now....

Geez Louise!  They're forecasting 80 degrees for Thursday.

I still have piles of ice sitting around and on the roof valleys.

It's hovering around 70 here and will probably dip back into the 50s later in the week.

Scientists warn it's a symptom of the larger climate crisis!

Re: The Bee Hive -- March 2022 Edition

I went to the Dollar Tree to buy hard candy for work (I keep a large jar there) and the store has been turned upside down.  Very little selection in the candy aisle.

I asked the associate about it and he said that they're just moving things around to make room for the $5 items.

The packages of candy that were $1 are now $1.25.

I still haven't gone into our neighborhood Five Below store, but I have a feeling that the dollar stores are going to look pretty much the same.

Guess I'll stop at Dollar General to pick up more candy since my Dollar Tree is under transformation.
