Re: The Bee Hive -- December 2025 Edition

Good evening BeeKeepers!  Hope everyone is well and had a nice holiday.

We had a nice Christmas, and I'm so sad it's over.  My husband and I are the only ones awake.

Daughter and husband are in bed now and heading out early for home (Virginia).  So sad as we don't get to see them as much as I'd like.

No new burns on my hands!  Husband did most of the cooking (ovens).  I did mostly stove top cooking...lol.

We had a lot of laughs and it was so good to get together.  All grandkids here and I do believe everyone was happy with what they got.  Love when the cousins get together.

It will be a few months (April?  When is Easter?) when this hopefully will happen again.

This year is almost over and I'm looking forward to next year.  Still no plans for NYE.  Doesn't matter to me at the moment....

Easter is April 5th.

Glad you had a good get-together with family.  What makes it even better is that you're sorry it's over. Heart

It's a good sign.

Re: The Bee Hive -- December 2025 Edition

We had a great visit with my father.  Surprised him after he was done eating.  We were in the 'salon/living room area' where they have a Baby Grand piano.  My youngest grandson was playing the few Christmas songs he knows (learned from Youtube).

Other residents were so happy to see such a gathering of family--they joined us.  A man complimented my grandson with his playing and came back and gave him $5.   !!!  Told him to keep up with his lessons.Woman Very Happy

Again, my grandson learned from youtube/internet.  The man just wouldn't understand that!

My dad was beaming with pride to see us all at once.  I've reminded him every day since and he still remembers. I feel like if I keep bringing it up, he'll never forget....hopefully.Heart

Aw.  That is so sweet! 🥹

What a nice interlude for everyone, including the other residents.  I imagine many of them don't have the family that yours does.  You lightened everyone's day and now your father will be the star of the facility. 😉

Wonderful memories for all. 💕

Re: The Bee Hive -- December 2025 Edition

Have you ever taken a trip down Memory Lane on Google Street View?

Every now and then, I type in an address and go for a little "walk" around a particular area.

A few nights ago I had some time on my hands, so I typed in a Rogers Park address in Chicago and "walked" around my childhood neighborhood.

I headed down random streets off Sheridan Road and ended up on Broadway.  I passed the old Uptown Theatre and then the Riviera Theater.

I just rambled on until I felt I was someplace very familiar.  I was on Sheffield Avenue in Wrigleyville, just outside Wrigley Field.

I had to laugh.  How did I "walk" all the way from our old apartment building on Sheridan Road to Wrigley Field?
