Re: THE FALL HAYRIDE🍂🏈🎃🍗

DH just got home, announced himself, so I went to the kitchen to put the food away and saw a vase of red roses, shocked, butA it is our 47th Anniversary today.

He used to bring me flowers, but he bought them on a corner in San Francisco after work, and they were usually half dead, so told him not to do that anymore, lol.  I told him I would grow them.

Re: THE FALL HAYRIDE🍂🏈🎃🍗

hello all

Mousie  military personnel can move whenever,if you are needed you go. my kids were in 12 schools over the 12 years of schooling. military is a very hard life,either you are moving or your friends are moving. you make friends fast because you never know when either you or them will be leaving. Yet I would not exchange the military life dh and I had, we miss it tremendously.

still raining, still very chilly cold. we may see sun by thursday.

ok guys later

@Puddles

This is the recipe I used for a pumpkin cake for potluck supper in September.  The only change I made was 1/2 cup cranberries in place of raisins.  I baked it in a 10 inch bundt pan.  It was a moist cake and well received by people attending the dinner. Smiley Happy

@AnikaBrodie   I post this most every year and I make it most every year. I have also switched the raisins with cranberries a few times and I always use a bundt pan as called for in the recipe. It's a favorite of my family but especially of both Ian and my brother. I got out the recipe today to bake it this weekend.

@mousiegirl    Happy Anniversary!  💐!
     I know how bad lack of sleep can be, not for my self but both my son has and my husband had sleep apnea.
   Without the c-pap machine they only get a few hours at the most sleep a night. Their breathing is impaired and breath is held stressing the heart, etc.

   Once when returning from the mountains my husband was driving down the mountain and almost ran over a UPS truck.  I made him stop and get coffee and he wanted me to drive his large town car which I'd never driven. Awful trip!

     He fell asleep at the breakfast table and spilled coffee when we got home. I called the Naval hospital that had him on the sleep list for months later. I told the clerk about his driving, and when told he would have to wait I asked his name. When he asked why, I told him when my husband has an accident and kills someone it will be your fault! He asked if my husband could come to the clinic that night. I told him yes. HA!  Then I told  DH to pack overnight things he was going. He did without complaining.
      The first night after sleeping with the c -pap he walked in the kitchen smiling and saying he felt wonderful and slept so well. Amazing what a good night's sleep will do!
      🥱 🤤 😴 😃

It's still raining!  Alfie was out and back in in a hurry today.  No smelling the flowers which he does every day.  Smiley Happy  Maybe tomorrow; it's supposed to be partly sunny and high of 69.  Smiley Happy

@1Snickers

I would want you in my corner if I needed help, I love it how you stressed the importance of getting the help your husband needed! Medicine is a two edged sword, things they are doing for your son causes other problems. I hope they get things figured out for him. That is part of the reason, along with my hair, that I am trying to handle the nausea without more meds. I will relinquish if necessary.

@possummink

Junebug is absolutely adorable! I hope Jillian and Thomas have smooth sailing on the rest of their journey back. I actually had my first sweatshirt of the fall season on today. I think we have been a bit warmer here than you although Friday is only supposed to get to 53degrees so it is coming our way. It will be soup weather before we know it. Your soups always sound so delicious.

Re: THE FALL HAYRIDE🍂🏈🎃🍗

IMPORTANT MESSAGE:

From the Medicare.gov website:
  • Remember that Medicare will never call you to sell you anything or visit you at your home.  Medicare, or someone representing Medicare, will only call and ask for personal information in these 2 situations:
  • 1)  A Medicare health or drug plan may call you if you’re already a member of the plan. The agent who helped you join can also call you.
  • 2)  A customer service representative from 1-800-MEDICARE can call you if you’ve called them and left a message or a representative said that someone would call you back.

FYI:    Several residents at our retirement complex have recently had phone calls from a person saying they are a Medicare agent.  That person is requesting personal information and numbers from their Medicare card.  DO NOT give them personal information or numbers from your ID card.  THIS IS A SCAM.
