Yes I have experienced this and it did turn out to be medical.

I was severely anemic  which let to a blood transfusion and more eventually.  I knew I was becoming out of breath and weak on top of it.

I craved  "walnuts"  Then it wasn't enough and I craved salt to no end. So I made macaroni and cheese and mixed it will walnuts Ate it all day.

Crazy yes but there was a reason and it was severe iron deficiency, which led to blood transfusion and then a diagnosis which was not good.

Please pay attention to your body with these cravings if they are new and unusal. .  They are telling us something is not right.

@Mz iMac , I've had a weight problem all my life; I can gain weight just reading your post! Hope you are well.

@Carolina925   I'm quite well (except for migraines) thank you very much.

I'm lucky or cursed that it's hard for me to gain weight & to keep it.

@Carolina925   This summer I've been obsessed with baby cucumbers (and the slightly larger ones). Can't get enough of them! I put my Blackroot salt chips from Scotland on them and I can go through a pack in a couple days.  Odd, what?

Funny you mention pickles.  I have had 5 today.  Hot jalepeno pickles made by Grillo's (I think?).

I have to go a hundred miles away to get them, but you bet I got a container this week!  I have such a craving for jalapeno anything, it's awful!  I also have to go a hundred miles for the jalapeno hummus and have 3 tubs in the fridge.  Plus, I make my own!

My cravings for these have gone on for years!  One year I gave the pickles up for Lent.  And went the rest of the year without.

But then I fell off the wagon.....

@Lucky Charm you probabky rack up an abundance of pickle jar juice. Use it to make salad dressings. If you like onions, slice white or red onions and store in the juice for a day for pickled onions or buy popsicle molds, strain the liquid and pour into the molds and freeze for pops.

@Imaoldhippie , I didn't detect any disrespect at all. I got a good laugh out of it.

After our bout with covid -July 2022-and having all 4 vaccines - my dh and I were craving Jersey Mike subs, plus I was craving watermelon. It was insane! It probably continued until sometime in late August! I still love watermelon but not to
That extreme and we do get a sub now and then😊
