I don't have to worry about my diet and eat whatever I want whenever I want, with portion limitations, of course, but I've noticed recently that I'm getting strange cravings. I went from a dill pickle craving earlier in the year, at times eating them instead of a meal. At these times, there's nothing I can eat that will satisfy me. Now I've gotten a cold cereal craving! It's been so long since I've eaten cold cereal, probably 10 or more years, and I don't even know what kind I'd buy if I went to the grocer but I've got a real hankering. Does anyone else who doesn't have to prepare meals for others ever get these cravings and do you know why?

@Carolina925

yes, I do! Grrr

When I get these, it seems sometimes nothing satisfies!

For instance, I ordered online an expensive order of my favorite non-dairy treat, delivered in dry ice...and the works.

I ate all 4 containers over the course of about two weeks!

But almost at once I got "tired" of that!

My cravings I often wonder if they are brought on actually by allergies. I believe allergy to stuff in the air cause my stomach to feel acidy making me think I'm hungry but actually probably not.

Medications (prednisone is one) that makes me feel very ravenous. I cannot even seem to satisfy the feeling. This is not usual for me and I'm glad when it's over!

Maybe it's our bodies telling us that we need to eat a particular thing...and we might not even know why.

My current craving is curly fries and hamburger from Sheetz. This craving has got to stop!

I have never had a craving for any greasy food, like fries, and my worst one is just as bad, hot cereal.  Quaker makes an instant oatmeal that is strawberries and cream (label) and I love, love, love it and when DH goes fast asleep at night (he is diabetic and has heart disease), I eat two packets.  That satisfies my craving.  I will be glad when that craving turns to distaste because it is a load of carbs and I put a load of butter in it.  Oh...dear I hear the moaning now from the purist dieters.

@Carolina925  I do not have portion limitations.

My cravings are........

two bacon & egg samiches on toast for dininer

(Bisquick) pancakes for breakfast, lunch & dinner

Currently I am on a daily craving of spinach salad for dinner followed by a giant bowl of Breyers Chocolate ice cream.

Breakfast, a mountain pile of hashbrowns & nothing else.  Eating some at this very moment w/tall glass of chocolate milk.

Last week it was hoagies!

I'm lucky if I gain 1/2 lb. Smiley Tongue

@We rescue cats

I never thought I would eat food such as this!

However, it IS always fresh even tho it also is "junk" food!
Their burgers have event meat in them...I ask for it wrapped in a tortilla instead of a bun!

The curly fries...that is one DANGEROUS addiction!
