I wanted to be sure that I thanked those that have posted on selling their gold and silver jewelry.  I never would have thought of doing it and that it would be so easy to do.  The offer I received yesterday was amazing to me.  I really thought that I had sent a lot of junk along with very little of value.  I opted for a check instead of direct deposit or PayPal so ill be waiting for a couple of days more.  Once again, Thanks!

oh oh! @pachutabelle  Hi.  Woman Happy

I assumed you were referring to a prior thread of yours here, but I couldnt find it.

I have oodles & oodles of Jewelry.  This includes some former, vintage, super gorgeous, super sparkling QVC Diamonique, esp rings), that now I've considered selling.  At that time, QVC seemed more routinely to set in 10K, some 14K settings, (not overlay), & I'd bought those. Many of mine, hardly worn, if at all!

I considered them an investment, esp in the metals.  And, assumed gals later in my life would want, take well care of them, but for a variety of reasons hasnt happened.

I'd welcome any of the info you, or others, have learned about this selling gold jewelry.

Thanks in Advance, @pachutabelle Woman Happy

@mare54  I used Express Gold Cash.  They are in New York.  I asked for their kit online.  They sent detailed instructions and prepaid express envelopes for both FedEx and USPS.  Both trackable.  They emailed me an offer within 24 hours of receiving my envelope.  Now another 24 hours and I have received an email that the check is on the way.  So I won't be completely satisfied until the check is in the bank and has cleared but it was an easy process.  The hardest part was sorting through old jewelry, not sure what was real gold or silver.

I sold the majority of my gold back when gold was a record high of$1200 an oz--I went to a local jeweler and got paid cash immediately. Did that a couple times. Made a good amount of $$ back. I still have a handful of gold things--not enough for much cash tho. And I haven't bought gold in decades either.

I also went to my local jeweler.  Option given to me was one amount for cash and another to purchase more jewelery.  Honestly, depending on what they had I have done both. If there were items I was interested in I just couldn't miss out.

@wagirl : Gold is over $3600 oz today. I have a lot of 14, 18k and pure gold ( most purchased overseas 40 + yrs ago). I'm giving one son a 2 baht chain this Christmas ( eventually he'll have three chains so his 2 sons each also have one. The rest of my stash will stay stored for now; if we need some real cash I may eventually sell some but most will be willed to my other son.

I actually have much more jewelry than I can ever wear, since I have been collecting for decades. I cannot tell you about all the GREAT gold bargains I used to get at the QVC outlets--gifts for all the women in my family.  Those were the days.

Some things that I liked when I was younger I wanted to upgrade.

I used to buy a lot of silver and 10 karat gold, but I have now gotten rid of most of that, just because it was sitting around collecting dust.

In Philly I recommend Eric at 8th Street Gold & Diamond Buyers--very honest and fair, and measures by weight, unless there are special specifc items. They pay in cash.

If you live near Chicago try SellBrandedJewelry dot com with Mike J.  He will pay cash in person or by Zelle.

You can read many five star reviews about both places.

Yes, gold has skyrocketed in price!

Sadly, I still cannot resist  shopping for lovely pieces that catch my eye, but no more impulse purchases!

@pachutabelle

Do you recall what they paid you per gram?
