Re: STOP! Grammar Time...

[ Edited ]

@MacDUFF@WenGirl42, and other experts,

I'd like to find a good grammar and composition reference. Maybe a refresher course.

Any recommendations?

Tia!

Strunk and White was our bible at Cornell. They wrote The Elements of Style. I recommend it highly.

@Vivian

Followed up on your recommendation and ordered it. Arrived yesterday, looks like exactly what I need.

Thanks!

Great graphic!   Ever since childhood I've noted correct word usage from the books I've read.  Once I see something in print, it's usually safe to assume that it's correct.

The ONLY place I've ever seen "could of" used was on message boards.  I cringe and wonder ... do people really talk like that?

ITA @Tinkrbl44, great graphic @lolakimono! I'm copying & saving it. Thanks!

I have a copy of Strunk and White that I found on  ebay a few years ago. The co-author is EB White who also wrote Charlotte's Web and Stuart Little
