Re: SS COLA TBA today Oct 12, 2023

@Othereeeen   I have the Medicare book, but none of that applies to my plan which is provided by my employer.  Part D is my responsibility and I have no choice unless I reject their Part B assistance.  I've priced all that- and there isn't a plan that overall is less than I pay now.

By the way, congrats on your redesign of your body into a healthier machine!   I am not free of meds, but I firmly believe that if I hadn't changed my life style and lost about 75 pounds and added some exercise, I wouldn't be here today.  I'm not med free, but that wasn't my goal.

@millieshops

Good for you on your weight loss ....No matter what your goal was, that really impressive!!!

Because I had not started taking any meds yet in 2017,I wanted to keep it that way....that was part of my motivation...plus, I just got personally fed up with being sick and tired.

Asked myself, on my 61st birthday, "If not now, Othereen ....WHEN?!?!?!?".

Everyone has to reach their own cracking point!!!!

Good luck with your Plan D search !

FYI

For those who receive Social Security Disability (SSDI), the COLA increase will be $43/month.

@feline groovy? I didn't realize that everyone who is on SSDI get the same amount. Didn't know that.

@Othereeeen : it's for the average SSDI recipient.

The average Social Security recipient will get an extra.$54/month.

Those increases will start showing in January 2024.
