Re: 🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙. SOLD !!!

@Puppy Galore

I love that you got up and left the dealership!  Good for you.

I did that once and they let me walk Smiley Surprised  Looks like it paid off for you.  You don't intend to replace your car?  My car might not leave the garage for a week but just as soon as I don't have it, I'm thinking about all the places I need to go but can't.

Re: 🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙. SOLD !!!

@Puppy Galore  Congrats on doing your research and sticking to what you thought you should get.

Agree about car salesmen.  My neighbor purchased a Chrysler Pacifica which is gas with a small EV motor......kinda weird.  The salesperson told her she could plug it into a regular household outlet w/an extension cord to charge the EV part. Eventually she figured out that wasn't right.

Re: 🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙. SOLD !!!

Glad you got a good deal for your car.  If you are situated where you can walk to a lot of places and have it figured out to get rides for all the place that you need, then that is great.  If I lived in a populated area where I could get to things quickly and easiy, then I would do that, too!

Re: 🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙. SOLD !!!

Wow, that's so different from my experience. Two years ago, my dad gave me his car because he couldn't drive anymore. I sold my 2016 Chevy Impala LS with 46,000 miles to the dealer I bought it from for 4 times what others offered me. It was an easy and quick process.

I tried Carvana and another similar company and private sale but none gave me anything close to what the dealer did.

Re: 🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙. SOLD !!!

@Puppy Galore   Good for you!   I tried to sell my dads car back to the dealer.  It was a total joke.  I said I would give it away to someone that really needed a car before I would take their pathetic offer.  My financial advisor bought it for his high school senior.  Paid my dad 5 x what the dealer offered.  It wasn't new, but it was in excellent shape, had a new engine from Kia.  (Due to a recall).

Good for you.  I still need my car.  Glad being car free will work for you.

Another vote for grocery delivery. While I do drive, I have been getting all of my groceries from Amazon Fresh (with Amazon Prime) since the pandemic. I place the orders online  through their very efficient  website. There is rarely a glitch and, when there is an error, it is quickly resolved.  The produce is superior to what I used to find in various grocery stores. And it hasn't been "manhandled" by other shoppers as it is packed from  warehouse arrival before it hits the commercial floor of the store.  The slight increase in price and the optional tip are well worth it to me as I have physical issues that make in-person shopping almost impossible. I have used Walmart delivery a few times and, similarly, was very pleased. I also enjoy saving gas money and the wear and tear on my car.

Addendum: I once took a male friend with me to a dealership to test drive a car I had carefully researched and was prepared to buy. Given my friend's great knowledge of cars, it was one last endorsement that I was seeking.  The salesman was  made well aware that I was the sole purchaser and that we were not a couple.  Nonetheless, during the negotiations, he addressed all comments to my male friend and never even made eye contact with me. After we left, I phoned the salesman and (vehemently!) told him why he missed an all cash purchase of a new car. In those days men like that were called "male chauvinist pigs." And so he was! I can only hope that he learned something from my tirade.
