The woman is a selfish brat who thought she was above the rules. We see way too much of this attitude and behavior these days.

@Bhvbum According to my niece that was not the reason.
Did your niece know the reason? @Boehm Collector

@Lucky Charm .. the woman just changed her mind about flying. She knew she would be removed from the plane if she refused to wear her seat belt. But I wonder if she was aware of the other consequences?!?!?!

@Boehm Collector I'm sorry, I did read your response to that up thread!
I wonder why she even got on the plane? So much easier to just head back home from the gate. No standing around/in line. Strange, isn't it?
Thanks again.

Sound like a toddler whim and tantrum.
I'm the opposite.
When I used to travel for business, I got in the habit of loosening my belt by about 6-8 inches after liftoff and never taking it off until we'd landed.
Turbulence happens without warning.
I've heard too many horror stories about injured necks to ever go without the seatbelt anymore. Some injuries never completely go away.

Why make this assumption. It's not always about weight. One of my pet peeves is people jumping to weight. Fyi, airlines have seatbelt extenders so it isn't even correct to assume it's a weight issue.
I admit I'm overly sensitive about weight comments, body shaming and the like. I lost 80 pounds. I'll never forget the rudeness of strangers, comments, laughter, and assumptions made by others.

@Lucky Charm Very strange indeed. And apparently she has a European passport. So we have no idea why she would want to get off the plane.

@Bhvbum. The flight attendants have seat belt extensions. All a passenger has to do is ask for one.
Have you ever sat next to a very large passenger on a flight? They call the flight attendant for the seatbelt extender and then the next thing they do is put their seat arm up between the seats so they can fit in the seat. This extended seatbelt does not solve the problem of a person taking up a third to half of my seat. I tell them I'm sorry and I put the arm back down.

@Bhvbum Could you Please explain HOW, If the person couldn't get the seatbelt affixed to her seat to fit, BUYING a 2nd SEAT was going to solve the problem?
