I second this!!! Have a party to attend in a few hours I am stressing over. Not happy with some things and not in any kind of mood to deal with drama.

Enjoy reading your varied answered. Working in education, I'm used to having a break between Christmas and New Year's Day. This is my 'project' week so I get busy once Christmas day passes. It's also time to nail down a budget for upcoming year so I'm always sad my bank account is lighter after Christmas. I'd make a terrible Santa Clause!
We grow weary of winter so try to schedule some time in January or February to get away from the Midwest cold. In our younger years, we'd ski in Colorado. We didn't consider a ski week with sunshine as winter. Now, we head south, usually a January week in Destin, FL. Then, we do a short week the end of February to visit our daughter in Arizona and go to Surprise, AZ for the Royals' baseball training camp. Son-in-law grew up Texas Ranger fan and these teams share training facilities. A fun week for all.
No, I don't miss the holidays when they're over. It's a lot of work. Ready for the next thing.

No. I dealt with this feeling when my girls were small. Did I do enough? Did I make them happy? Did I buy the right gifts? I already felt guilty because of my holiday work schedule, and not being with them as much as I would’ve liked. However, I did the best I could, and we survived.
Thankfully my girls are grown. I’m no longer responsible for making Christmas magical for them or anyone else. My house doesn’t have to be full of decorations; a tree isn’t necessary for 4 adults to celebrate this joyous holiday. (I’m the only one here who does not have asthma and COPD. It does not make sense to fill our living space with decorations that are stored in our basement, and covered in mold spores, just because of a date on the calendar).
I love the memories of my girls early Christmases, but at 64 years old, I love these older Christmases just as much. I let go of all the things that caused that let down effect after the holiday. I do not shop, I do not “decorate” beyond a garden flag, door wreath, tablecloth, a poinsettia, a holiday shower curtain and hand towels. I don’t bake. I keep the holiday food simple, and mainly I am happy to see my girls do whatever they want to do for their holiday break. All of our immediate family are within 12 miles of us; we have 364 other days we can get together, it does not have to be December 25th.

Me too. Glad when TV programming returns to normal and not reruns...and commercials are not Christmas based and repeated holiday blather. Music in the stores is not blaring repeated Christmas songs over and over. It is just OVERKILL.

Don't worry foks!!!
Only FIVE months to Christmas in July!!!!
That's right! In 2019, they started in JUNE, so I expect by Memorial Day they will start hawking the glitter covered giant sized multi set LED lit Dollar Store Junk!!!!
Only on QVC!!! ( and HSN now)....Christmas in July starting in May!!!
Can you IMAGINE for one second how RELEIVED the hosts are not to have to be jumping around in PJs and Cabin Socks and getting excited about the Same Ole Same Ole that's been flogged for months!?!?!?!
Just a small breather now.....populated with Roberta's, garden shows, the mats, the plastic benches, the Plow and Hearth Rrust collectors..until....CIM!!! ( christmas in MAY er, July)..
Make way for the 2000.00 dollars pre-lit trees and the 8 foot high David's Ornaments!
Buy a few for you, both sides of your door, and your gift closet!!!!
Original answer....Not really ( sorry to see it go)..Too Much, Too Long.

I used to, really bad, mostly when my kid was little. I didn't want it all to end and for him to go back to school.
The last few years, I don't mind in the least it is over. Not wishing it gone, not wanting to ignore the season, but it's just 'less' in so many ways to me now.
Less presents being bought, less people to see and entertain (passed on), less decorating each year (gave up decorating the upper level bedrooms and baths several years ago, and limited the lower areas a tiny bit more each year), less interest in Hallmark's sappy romances, less baking, less sad at the end and packup time.
Guess I've entered another phase of life! LOL

@Mominohio ....you and me both....new phase of life...I have very little family....gatherings are not near as much 'fun' as they once were...some have passed on, others....difficult.
Not despressed just ready for the new year to be here and start things all over again!

@house_cat I was ready to put decorations away, I enjoy them more before Christmas. It's been up since Nov 1. I just finished today, even the tree.
I left the white birch tree that lights up. And a topiary that lights that is in the place off the tree. There are many candles and lanterns so it doesn't appear bare.
Everything looks so clean!❤️

We leave our indoor decorations up through January. It doesn't make me sad, or down, but it just feels odd for about a week. I place my energy on upcoming spring decorating, with some of Valerie's beautiful spring home decor. It stays out through summer, and so on.
~~~All we need is LOVE💖
