Butterfly.   Love, love, love this picture.   I see many many lightning bugs outside and sometimes one or two will even get inside here in the house.  I catch them and put them back outside.  We have many of them though I've recently read that they are declining as people not realizing that leaf litter, decaying logs, etc are where the little lightning bugs develop and thrive.  

We have a lot of places for these awesome summer critters to live and thrive.   Being here at home longer into the summer this year,  I am getting to see them in their full 'glory'.    They start out low to the ground in the early twilight and then later in the evening they are up in the canopy of the trees and are just flashing away.   They remind me of tiny jewels or twinkling Christmas lights.  Love them.   Thank you for a cool picture of them in action. 

My DDIL in Florida loves them, but we never see them around their home.  She did see them when she lived in CO.
